From its vibrant culture and delectable flavours to postcard-worthy landscapes and remarkable architecture, we dare say that Asia just does it better when it comes to travel experiences. It’s no wonder that the continent is also home to some of the most luxurious hotels in the world.

Luckily for us, there is a flurry of new upscale hotels and resorts cropping up across the region throughout 2023 and we’re more than thrilled to be able to satiate our travel cravings this year. Pack your bags and get ready to revel in some of the most extravagant stays ahead…

 

1. Artyzen, Singapore

Driven by art, culture, and emotional wisdom as its operating philosophy, Artyzen Hospitality Group’s first hotel in Singapore—Artyzen Singapore—is slated to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2023. The lush property draws inspiration from Singapore’s culture, colours, and flavours while illustrating a fresh interpretation of luxury lifestyle with the greatest comforts. Located at the heart of the downtown Orchard area, the 142-guest room vertical oasis features a 25-metre cantilevered infinity pool with a partially transparent base, and a private social space on the top floor named The Roof Garden that embraces the Strait’s Chinese heritage.

2. ParkRoyal Langkawi Resort, Malaysia

The Pan Pacific Hotels Group recently announced the debut of the ParkRoyal Langkawi Resort, located along the picturesque Pantai Tengah in northern Malaysia’s Langkawi Island. The beachfront property comprises 301 guest rooms and suites as well as seven spacious villas kitted out with distinctive features and amenities that extend an upscale modern living experience. Amongst the resort’s unique offerings include cooking classes, an infinity pool overlooking the Straits of Malacca, the Suasana Spa for head-to-toe pampering sessions, and three dining options—Lancava, a specialty restaurant; Cassia for all-day dining; and a swim-up bar, the Ocean View Lounge.

3. Capella Sydney, Australia

Following a 7-year restoration and renovation project, Capella Sydney is now welcoming guests to its haven that is housed within Australia’s 1900s Department of Education building. The prestigious hotel, which marks the Capella Group’s entry into Australia, is a stone’s throw away from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and consists of 192 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites. Spanning nine levels, Capella Sydney opens doors to an exclusive world of luxury and cultural connection through refined and curated features and facets dispersed across the property, as well as the brand’s signature The Living Room, which extends culture and experience programs for guests. 4. Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach, Thailand

In January, the Andaz brand marked its arrival in Thailand with the opening of Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach, a tropical retreat lodged on a palatial 15-acre oceanfront land overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Surrounded and inspired by Thailand’s abundant nature, the seaside resort features 204 spacious rooms, suites, and villas in the form of traditional Thai teak wood houses. There are also two heritage-inspired houses—a four-bedroom duplex called Manor House and a six-bedroom Presidential Heritage House—set to be open to the public in the coming months. Amongst the resort’s many offerings include six restaurants and bars, three outdoor swimming pools, a beachfront pool, the Panpuri Spa, and a 24-hour fitness centre.

5. Regala Skycity Hotel, Hong Kong

Conveniently located within the vicinity of the Hong Kong International Airport inside the Skycity hub, Regala Skycity Hotel by Regal Hotels International offers guests easy access to the wonders of the city. 6. Club Med Kiroro Grand, Japan

The leading pioneer of premium all-inclusive holidays and family vacations, Club Med, will be opening its Club Med Kiroro Grand resort in December 2023. This exceptional resort is perched on the Club Med Kiroro Peak, the brand’s sole mountain destination in Asia, which sees the highest average snowfall of 21 metres in Hokkaido and 160 days of winter. Thus, the resort is the ideal destination for ski enthusiasts in search of the finest powder snow slopes. 7. The Westin Resort & Spa, Himalayas, India

There is nothing more majestic than Marriott’s new The Westin Resort & Spa, perched on a 50,811 sm steep site at the foothills of the Himalayas where wellness and nature seamlessly go hand in hand. 8. Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, Japan

The ultra-glitzy and modern Bulgari Hotel Tokyo is the eighth gem of the Bulgari Hotels and Resorts collection, lending the hospitality brand’s contemporary Italian style and glamour to the capital of Japan. Forefronting trademark Italian architecture and interior design, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo occupies five floors of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu skyscraper near the city’s lively shopping areas of Nihombashi and Ginza. The luxe hotel offers 98 rooms and suites furnished with bespoke Italian luxury furnishings and houses the exquisite 8-seat Sushi Hōseki helmed by Japanese Chef Kenji Gyoten from the three-Michelin-star Sushi Gyoten. 9. Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou, China

Partnering with property developer Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has unveiled its plans for a new Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou in China, which will occupy a 9-hectare private island amidst Jinji Lake. The idyllic hotel, which is roughly a 30-minute train ride away from Shanghai, is expected to feature over 200 rooms, suites, and villas, on top of a lavish spa, comprehensive gym, lakeside jogging track, lush gardens, a kids’ club, and indoor and outdoor pools. Where sustenance is concerned, this Four Seasons hotel property will feature a premier Chinese restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant, and several lounges, including an Executive Lounge with commanding views of the hotel’s exclusive landscaped lagoon.

10. Regent Hong Kong

Taking modern luxury to new heights is the newly reopened Regent on Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, which had its brand reimagined by Hong Kong-born, Milan-based designer Chi Wing Lo. Showcasing storied heritage, daring yet pared-back aesthetics, and the Regent signature Beauty of Contracts, this rare urban sanctuary houses 503 contemporary guest rooms, including 87 harbour view suites, designed intentionally to evoke contemplation of thought. The former Regent Hong Kong had always been known for its culinary delights, and these restaurants have been elevated to offer a rich sensory experience beyond excellent cuisine. Amongst them include The Steak House, Harbourside, the Lobby Lounge, and the two-Michelin-star Yan Toh Heen, which has been renamed to its original legacy moniker Lai Ching Heen.
