BURO Gadget Guide: Dyson WashG1, GoPro Hero13 Black, and more tech releases from September 2024

September has been a major month in the world of technology to say the least. To kick off the month, we were introduced to the brand new iPhone 16 family alongside other major Apple device announcements. Over the last few weeks, we were also graced with the arrivals of other gadgets, including the Dyson WashG1 as well as Bang & Olufsen’s Beoplay H100. Let’s waste no time and get you acquainted with all the must-know tech releases from September 2024 right here with the latest edition of the BURO Gadget Guide. 

 

DYSON WASHG1

We’re at that point in our lives when household appliances and decor bring immeasurable excitement to our days. With that being said, the Dyson WashG1 is a release that we’re particularly jazzed about. Designed to keep your hard floors spick and span, this new addition to the brand’s lineup of floorcare technology is bound to bring some sparkle (literally) to your abodes. The Dyson WashG1 will take care of both dry and wet dirt on the floor in one go, covering up to 3,000 square feet on a single charge. But that’s not all. The device automatically separates the solid debris from the liquid to make disposal and maintenance much easier. 

On the body of the Dyson WashG1 is a one-litre clean water tank that sits above a 0.8-litre dirty water tank. So, how does the separation system work? A 500-micron mesh acts as a sieve between the dirty liquid and larger pieces of dirt. The dirty water is extracted from the rollers using a mangle. On the other hand, the debris is removed by secondary nylon bristled inner brush bars before being flicked into a separate debris tray. Within the device itself are smooth surfaces and no sharp crevices, so cleaning the Dyson WashG1 isn’t a hassle. This internal architecture also means it’s more difficult for dirt and residue to build up on the inside. 

To properly function for your needs, the Dyson WashG1 allows you to select the level of hydration required for your floor type or level of mess. On top of the low, medium, and high settings, there is also a separate boost mode that fully saturates the rollers to tackle the toughest stains. Speaking of rollers, there are two fitted into the Dyson Wash G1. They counter-rotate and have 26 hydration points across their widths to allow for even saturation from the pulse-modulated pump. Each roller is fitted with a highly absorbent microfibre to ensure total absorption of stains and debris. Their positions at the front and back of the machine also prolong what Dyson calls “dwell time” on each point on your floor so it can spend as much time as possible for more effective cleaning. 

Once you’re done, simply engage self-cleaning mode and the Dyson WashG1 will do the dirty work for you (literally). It first purges both rollers with water in the clean tank on boost mode. Then, it extracts the grime and dirty water into the second tank for you to dispose of. After you get rid of the solid waste from the debris tray, your Dyson WashG1 is ready to be charged for your next use.

BANG & OLUFSEN BEOPLAY H100

This month also saw the release of Bang & Olufsen’s new flagship headphones, Beoplay H100. F1 fans have probably already spotted them on F1 star Charles Leclerc and now they could be yours too. While we’re on the topic of sound, we can’t miss out on the brand new Marshall Emberton III. One of the most well-loved portable speakers in the brand’s lineup, it delivers crisp audio with Marshall’s signature sound plus Dynamic Loudness. This feature adjusts the balance and tones of the audio, ensuring it sounds flawless at any volume. GOPRO HERO13 BLACK

The world’s most popular action camera is back and better than ever. The new Hero13 Black is GoPro’s latest flagship product that pairs with the versatile HB-Series lenses. Expect nothing but stunning videos from the Hero13 Black. It shoots vibrant 5.3K 60fps videos with Emmy Award-winning HyperSmooth stabilisation, so even the roughest of waves and bumpiest of rides will be captured effortlessly. 

Among the new features on the Hero13 Black are its 13x burst slow motion capabilities and larger battery capacity. The former allows for video to be captured at up to 400fps at HD-quality 720p video, 5.3K at 120fps, as well as 900p at 360 fps.
