Kendall Jenner and Khloé Kardashian go blonde, Britney Spears gets makeup-shamed, and Michelle Phan is back
In this week's celebrity hair updates, Kendall Jenner and Khloé Kardashian go blonde while Hayley Williams ventured to new territory with two stark tones on one head (no gradient look with this one). Also, the OG queen of beauty vloggers Michelle Phan is finally back on YouTube (rejoice!) while we got pointers on how to wear Victoria Beckham Beauty's eye makeup from London Fashion Week.
MAC Cosmetics adds two new products to its iconic Studio Fix range
With our busy lives these days, on-the-go makeup is something we'll never say no to and MAC Cosmetics' new additions to its best-selling Studio Fix family are prime examples.
First, there's the pocket-friendly Studio Fix Soft Matte Foundation Stick, which, besides being spill-proof and great for touching up when you're in a cab, is also perfect for both amateurs and pros thanks to its easy-blending formula. Other perks? It has a diverse spectrum of shades (33 to be exact) and is ultra-versatile—use it as a concealer, highlighter, bronzer, or even eyeshadow primer. One stick, so many ways!
Then there's the Studio Fix Complete Coverage Cushion Compact—which comes in a pretty holographic packaging—if you fancy a velvety matte (but still hydrating) finish. Available in 24 shades, coverage is buildable, lasts 24 hours and you can even skip sunscreen (and save a couple of minutes in the morning) thanks to its high SPF50/PA++++ content.
Britney gets makeup-shamed for wearing eyeliner while working out
Keyboard warriors couldn't seem to put a cap on their negative thoughts on Britney Spears' recent Instagram video. The pop star recorded her workout routine in a gym but the only thing that naysayers are spotting (and spewing hate on) is her thick eye makeup and overall look i.e. "The eyeliner. I can't." and "Sorry Britney but you need to focus on a shower and a hair brush." Need we be reminded that it's Britney's own prerogative to wear whatever she wants to at the gym?
Models at Victoria Beckham SS20 wore eyeliner by Victoria Beckham Beauty
Last Saturday, Victoria Beckham officially launched her namesake beauty label (cruelty-free and clean) in conjunction with her SS20 collection at London Fashion Week. But what we didn't spot was her models' ultra-contemporary and utterly chic makeup looks backstage. All models sported a floating crease in a vivid shade or two—courtesy of Victoria Beckham Beauty's Satin Kajal Liner and Smokey Eye Brick. Our favourite look is this bordeaux and brown-based eye makeup look.
Michelle Phan is back on YouTube
The OG beauty YouTuber is back and not without a bang. After taking a two-year long hiatus, Michelle Phan is back on YouTube with a video titled "Hello", with a sneak peek on EM Cosmetics' newest product (a clear lip gloss). Peppered with snippets of her everyday life—including cute nose-butting shots of her cat—and some BTS scenes on campaign for the new lip gloss, Phan's video (and subsequent comment in the section below) indicates that she's truly back with more videos in the making for her fans.
Celebrity hair sightings
Kendall Jenner pulled off dirty blonde hair for Burberry at LFW
Kendall Jenner is perhaps the only one from the Kardashian-Jenner clan who isn't as adventurous with hair transformations (unlike her sisters). But the recent Burberry show at London Fashion Week was a rare occasion where she stepped out with a brand-spanking new hair colour: yellow-blonde with black streaks. She isn't the only one who's repping blonde locks—Bella Hadid took summer tresses to new heights with a fresh 'do just last month.
Khloé Kardashian sports icy-white locks
Khloé Kardashian may just be inspired by Daenerys Targaryen's icy waves with her new platinum hair colour and black roots. Debuting this look a few days after her sister Kendall rocked a fresh blonde do at London Fashion Week, it seems like blonde is likely celebrities' go-to colour of the season. Are you convinced?
Hayley Williams tries the dual-toned hair trend
What better spokesperson to rep a hair makeup brand than the founder herself? Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams is embracing her punk-loving roots (pun intended) with a jaw-dropping hair colour transformation courtesy of her hairstylist Brian J O'Connor. The two-toned look was achieved with Williams' hair colour brand Good Dye Young's lightening kit—and the "business in the front, natural at the back" hairdo comprises honey blonde locks bangs and an auburn-brown shade for the back of her head.
