BURO Beauty Stash: Supergoop!’s new sunscreens, floral scents from Gucci and Marc Jacobs, and more
From a SPF–makeup hybrid from Supergoop! to Drunk Elephant’s anti-pollution bronzer drops to Sulwhasoo’s gleaming (literally) new serum, these are the latest beauty releases we’re crushing on this October:
Supergoop! Glow Screen and CC Screen
Cult-favourite sunscreen brand Supergoop! has launched not one, but two promising SPF products that are perfect for makeup lovers.
Can’t get your makeup to stay put on top of your sunscreen and layers of skincare? Try the new Glow Screen, a makeup primer that comes with SPF40 and blue light protection for a dewy canvas and to ensure your makeup doesn’t budge. Tip from Nam Vo aka the queen of dewy dumplings: add a smidgen over your cheekbones if you want a highlighter-esque glow.
If you’re looking for complexion coverage, Supergoop!’s got you covered too. The new CC Screen offers buildable coverage with its oil-free, SPF50 formulation. Expect a breathable texture that evens skin tone and leaves skin luminous (read: glowy, not oily). Note that the CC Screen is free of D4 and D5 cyclical silicones, PEGs, talc, phenoxyethanol and any potential skin sensitisers.
Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Mattifying Facial Cleanser and Mattifying Moisturiser
For our oily/combination-skin readers out there, fret not if you forgot to restock on blotting papers. Philosophy’s new oil-free additions to its Purity Made Simple range may help with your greasy-skin woes.
The One-Step Mattifying Facial Cleanser has a gel formulation made with bamboo extract to help to clean skin without leaving that uncomfortable, tight sensation; while the Mattifying Moisturiser has vitamins and bamboo extract to hydrate skin and leave it matte and shine-free.

Marc Jacobs Perfect
Gotta love a fragrance that comes with a bold story (and equally bold packaging!)—Marc Jacobs Perfect checks all the boxes with its stunning bottle and inspiring campaign that celebrates self-acceptance and empowerment.
The fragrance is a solid winner in our books—a floral bouquet with notes of daffodil, rhubarb for a touch of freshness, almond milk for a creamy vanilla undertone, and cashmeran for a perfect balance of wood and musk.

Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Serum
Not-so-fun fact: Sulwhasoo Heritage and Science Centre most recently discovered a new cause of ageing—‘Inflammaging’ aka irritative ageing caused by external aggressors such as microscopic pollutants, fine dust, UV rays and even stressful daily habits.
The good news is that Sulwhasoo’s active ingredient, Ginsenomics™, can help to combat Inflammaging by regenerating and strengthening the layers of your skin. The bestselling Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing has exactly that, with a potent formula that can sink into all layers of the skin to increase elasticity within the skin cells.

Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori
Yet another floral scent in our stash is Gucci’s new iteration under the Bloom fragrance range. If you are an ardent fan of the OG Gucci Bloom EDP, you may be enamoured with this one.
The latest Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori stays true to Gucci Bloom EDP white floral signature, but expect a heady combination of Tuberose Essence, Jasmine Sambac Closed Buds and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. Daring and direct, this bold expression is accentuated with ylang ylang and sandalwood, with a trail of orris concrete, benzoin and musks.

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Serum
We love a bronzer that isn’t too in-your-face, is universally-flattering, and comes with a chockfull of skincare benefits. Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops does what its name says—it has anti-pollution active ingredients to boost your skin’s defences against environmental aggressors, and vitamin F to replenish your skin barrier function.
A little goes a long way with this product—all you need is a few drops for a bronze-tinted glow. While the formula isn’t the most pigmented, it leaves a natural finish that works remarkably well on top of foundation.

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque
Before you write off any form of lip lacquers in the age of corona (because who’s going to need one under a face mask?), hear us out: one swipe of Chanel’s latest Rouge Allure Laque is all you need for your next Zoom video call.
A creamy, water-resistant lip colour that offers a shiny, ultra-pigmented finish, it has a blend of oils, antioxidant complex of Sappan wood and vitamin E to keep lips hydrated and supple without that icky tight feeling.
