BURO Beauty Stash: 5 Makeup products our beauty team loved this month
What's in our bag
Ever heard of a cushion foundation that can give your facial contours a lifted appearance? Or a mascara that promises the look of lash extensions with just a few swipes? Our beauty team's makeup picks this month include these heavyweights that are able to elevate your makeup game to a whole new level:
Decorte AQ Radiant Glow Lifting Cushion Foundation
What do you get when you infuse rare skincare active ingredients into everyday makeup? Decorté's new AQ Radiant Glow Lifting Cushion Foundation is your answer—with an emulsion-foundation hybrid that takes care of your skin, offers buildable coverage and a healthy glow altogether (what more can you ask for, really?)
Its list of innovative ingredients packs a punch: Mucuna Birdwoodiana Stem Extract to improve skin's regenerative powers, White Birch Water for its rich amino acid content, collagen to firm the skin, and plant-derived oil for a radiant glow.
The AQ Radiant Glow Lifting cushion series has two different formulations for your complexion needs: the Cushion Foundation Tone Up SPF30/PA+++, a colourless tone-enhancing formula that's perfect for that MSBB (My Skin But Better) finish; and the Cushion Foundation SPF35/PA+++ to smooth your pores, lines, wrinkles, while giving you coverage and a luminous glow.

Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder
“Givenchy's bestselling Prisme Libre loose powder now comes in four shades altogether, with three new formulations that have colour-correcting properties. I gave Satin Blanc No. 02 a try and it did help correct my skin's natural yellow-tinged pallor—one that could look pretty unforgiving under harsh/natural lighting conditions, especially if I'm not wearing a face full of foundation.
“The powders are finely milled, so you don't have to worry about caking or creasing—it literally sinks into the skin weightlessly and leaves a velvety matte finish. My skin stayed oil-free all day, especially around the T-zone which tends to grease up the moment I step out of the house. Also, extra points for the luxe puff that allows you to pat the powder on easily.” – Loh Wei Yeen, Deputy Editor

Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara
“It's mascara seasons now and I'm all for it—all the more reason to play up the eyes, since face masks are making it easy to forego foundation and lipstick.
“Hourglass is the next brand to jump on that trend, and the new Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara is a real treat for the eyes—and I mean that literally. The packaging itself is a stunner—gold and a great addition to any vanity; but the formula pulls its weight too.
“Made to lift, lengthen and define, this vegan and cruelty-free mascara coats each lash with lightweight fibres, and I could certainly see the lengthening effect with this one. It didn't smudge all-day long and is easily removed (micellar water worked just fine). Tip: I like using it on the lower lash line for a wide-eye, doll-like look—the wand is practically made for it.” – Loh Wei Yeen, Deputy Editor

Nars Orgasm X Cheek Palette
“Nars' iconic blush gets a cheeky update in a new collection aptly named Orgasm X. My favourite is the Orgasm X Cheek Palette, a trio of shades for the girl who wants to look like she's got a *healthy* flush effortlessly (ahem).
“The Orgasm Highlighting Powder and Blush are great for an understated glow—the ultra-fine golden shimmers in the formula certainly help with that; but the Orgasm X Blush is a perfect, deep coral-pink if you prefer a blush that's dialled down in the shimmer factor. It's a little warm-toned than my usual, but still chic for a sun-kissed flush (also, ideal for darker skin tones).
“In usual Nars fashion, the powders go on the skin seamlessly without leaving a chalky finish, and they do last a while—even in this humid weather.” – Loh Wei Yeen, Deputy Editor

Sisley Le Phyto Gloss
“First impressions matter, and boy did this gloss leave a good one on me. The packaging is so dreamy—I’m a sucker for anything animal print, so the zebra-print gold packaging had me hooked from the start. The applicator is really comfortable to use, though I must admit that its wide shape means that it’s a little difficult to get the product into the corners of my mouth. That said, it’s nothing I can’t get around with a little concentration, so it’s really not a huge deal.
“The gloss itself feels great on the lips; it’s hydrating, plumping and it doesn’t have an overwhelming scent or taste. I’m genuinely surprised by how pigmented it is—this shade (10 Star) is a lovely bright red that looks great both on its own and over lipstick. It’s safe to say that I’m definitely going to continue using this product.” – Redzhanna Jazmin, Editorial Assistant

Gucci Poudré De Beauté Éclat Soleil
“I can't express how obsessed I am with this bronzing powder. I'm a fan of bronzers, but I tend to be really picky about the ones I use. Some are too pinky-toned, some are too dry and others just make me look dirty. Not this one, though: Performance-wise the colour is perfect for my fair-to-medium skin, the powder blends seamlessly and it is totally buildable. Not to mention, it smells terrific!
“Overall, the final look doesn't look too overwhelming (no sign of the dreaded contour line here), yet my face has definitely been sculpted (hello, cheekbones!). Plus, it feels delightful on the skin—super soft and silky. I can definitely see this bronzer being a permanent addition to my makeup desk.” – Redzhanna Jazmin, Editorial Assistant
