It’s Friday—you know what that means. Two things: 1) the weekend is near and 2) the BURO Weekend Guide is here. This week, we’re going to see lots of thrift and secondhand pop-ups happening around the area as well as community markets. With that, we’ve put all the need-to-know happenings of 18 and 19 January 2025 right here in one place. So, get your group chats ready because we’re going to get planning. 

 

1. TAKE IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS WITH ‘OUTSIDE’ AT PARC SUBANG

Price: Free entry with ticketed activities

Embrace community and break a sweat at ‘Outside’, a wellness-centric event featuring an itinerary full of activities that will nurture you inside and out. From a mindfulness run with Sage Centre and a dance class with Groove Society to dog-friendly yoga with Carly and a pound workout with Anis, you’ll be sure to get in a weekend’s worth of movement here. You can also nourish your soul with a therapeutic art session or flower arrangement class that will bring some calm to your day. 2. SAY HELLO TO ATMA AT ITS FIRST-EVER POP-UP EVENT WITH PASAR SELOKA AND WHIP EVENTS

Breathing fresh life into a heritage art deco building from the 1930s, Atma—a collaboration between Pasar Seloka and Whip Events—rises as the city’s latest community for creativity and collaboration to shine. For its first-ever event, the space is welcoming local talents to showcase their brands and crafts. The vendor lineup includes Mori Pin, Look For Us, Ateeka Store, Archive Booth, and more. With the building itself being managed by the team behind Limapulo, you can expect some heartwarming Nyonya curry noodles, perfectly sweet cakes, and drinks to keep you full while you’re there. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your reusable bags for shopping and cameras for snapping!

3. SIP BACK AND RELAX AT SUPERFLY MOB’S UNWINED PLUS KITCHEN TAKEOVER

The nomadic duo Superfly Mob is landing in Kuala Lumpur at Unwined Plus and you’re invited to the party. But first, who exactly is Superfly Mob? The pair consists of Oleg Sarapulov and Carolina Ross, who have made it their mission to bring their love for food and wine around the globe. During their stint at Unwined Plus, you’ll get to taste a menu full of plates made with love from the Uniwined Plus team and Superfly Mob. We’re talking shima aji crudo with saffron butter, grilled calamansi juice-marinated chicken thigh massaman curry, otoro with coconut fried rice, and more. Prepare your taste buds, we promise you’re in for a treat.

4. HUNT DOWN SOME COVETED FINDS AT ‘SORRY, I JUST NEED TO SHOP!!!’

Just one of the few pre-loved pop-ups happening this weekend, ‘Sorry, I Just Need to Shop’ is here to present you with a luxe lineup of apparel, bags, beauty products, and shoes. Wardrobes from the likes of Chryseis Tan, Eros Erfe, Jestinna Kuan, MsKuan, and Jovynn will be making appearances, so bring your shopping A-game! Plus, those spending above RM500 at ‘Sorry, I Just Need to Shop!!!’ will get a free scoop of gelato or coffee, courtesy of venue hosts, Paolo Paolo Gelato. Note: paper bags will not be provided, so bring your own reusable totes to hold your purchases!

Need to get your hands on more pre-loved clothing and bags? ‘It’s Thrifted?? It’s Thrifted!!’ is happening at Daydream Studio this weekend and there will be tonnes of items for you to sift through. As for the lineup, Bella Kuan, Mia Chai, Jmie Fu and more will be there presenting their pre-loved wardrobes. To keep you caffeinated and fed during your shopping spree, Brew n Bread will be on-site serving cuppas and some bites all weekend long.

Headlining the lineup is the Kyoto-based mother-daughter duo, Creative OOO, who are currently on their Otomo 2025 Asia Tour. Here, you’ll find handmade accessories from rings and earrings to keychains and socks—all of which embrace the power of colour and creativity.
