It’s been a few weeks since The Exchange TRX officially opened its doors to the public and from the looks of things, the hype is still going strong. Spanning first-in-Malaysia brands to exclusive beauty stores and luxury fashion labels, the lifestyle hub is certainly living up to its mission to be the new social heart of Kuala Lumpur. 

With over 400 experience stores sprawled across 1.3 million square feet of retail space, customers are spoilt with things to see, eat, and shop here. As discovering new places can be overwhelming for some, we’ve rounded up 10 lifestyle stores you should pop by while you’re at The Exchange TRX. Take a glimpse inside their retail space below to help you plan your next visit to the lifestyle complex. 

 

NEW BALANCE

Where: Level 2

Sports footwear and apparel brand New Balance’s latest store boasts a fresh retail consumer experience that’s designed to prioritise people, not products. It has communal seating arrangements that encourage consumers to gather, be inspired, and discover their authentic style through a thoughtfully curated selection of footwear and apparel. Positioned at the intersection of sport and culture, the concept features an assortment of merchandise, with visual storytelling accompanying selected products to highlight their makers and origins.

TUMI

Where: G.29.0, Level G

Fancy some luggage shopping? Tumi’s flagship store at The Exchange TRX promises an unparalleled luxury retail experience with an all-new concept, complete with a VIP room and premium monogramming services. Paying respect to the country’s rich heritage through intricate design elements, the store takes inspiration from the timeless beauty of Malaysian songket to feature prints on the front glass perimeter panel with front lighting, enhancing the aesthetics of the space. The cultural tapestry of the songket is chosen to reflect Tumi’s values of “combining timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design.” 

Spanning 1,572 square foot of retail space, the store is highlighted by an exclusive Tumi Lounge that’s reserved for Tumi Gold members. This private shopping sanctuary offers refreshing drinks and delectable light bites for personal shopping appointments, expert consultations, intimate collection previews and exclusive events—ensuring a luxurious and personalised experience.

 

JD SPORTS

Where: Level C 

Sneaker enthusiasts need no introduction to JD Sports, known by its tagline, ‘King of Trainers’. The leading sneaker and sports fashion retailer has just opened another store at The Exchange TRX, housing signature and JD-exclusive collections from the top sportswear brands including Adidas, Nike, New Balance, and more. 

 

ALO YOGA

Where: L1.97.00, Level 1

After much anticipation, Alo Yoga has opened its first ever flagship store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX. The globally renowned fashion and lifestyle brand specialises in luxury activewear that’s inspired by movement and performance, featuring collections for men and women including leggings, sports bras, loungewear, and accessories.

Blurring the lines between studio and street, the brand’s collections offer inclusive sizes and designs tailored to suit all body types and an active lifestyle. The debut of the flagship store also marks a milestone for Alo Yoga’s global expansion into Asia, with stores simultaneously opening in Thailand and Indonesia.

 

MATCHA EIGHT

Where: L2.73.0, Level 2

Following the success of its first shop in LaLaport BBCC last year, Matcha Eight welcomed its second outlet at The Exchange TRX in November. The muslim-friendly Japanese tea ice cream parlour boasts a fresh and exciting concept with an exclusive dessert and beverage menu featuring delectable treats like Traditional Warabimochi, Matcha and Hojicha Jelly, Matcha Eight Seasonal Platter and Fizzy Yuzu Matcha, to name a few. One special item that’s available only at the flagship shop is the Crazy Rich Matcha with Matcha Syrup ice cream, packing an intense punch for true matcha enthusiasts

 

LULULEMON

Where: L1.81.0 & L1.82.0, Level 1

Another athletic apparel brand that has just opened a flagship store at The Exchange TRX is Lululemon. As the latest and largest Lululemon store in Malaysia, the 5,000-square-foot space marks the brand’s commitment to deepening its connection and relevance to the local community. The space incorporates locally sourced rattan, an ecologically-conscious material, to create a warm and tropical ambience throughout the store. It is further distinguished by the depiction of The Exchange 106 building and Malaysian flora on the store front—an homage to our national emblems. 

Customers will find a wide range of Lululemon products from the yoga, running, and training collections at this flagship, including the signature Align™ pants and hijabs for women, as well as the Pace Breaker shorts for men. There’s also the Casual collection that’s designed for versatile everyday wear, alongside various play categories like golf, tennis, and hiking.

RIMOWA

Where: G.07.0, Level G

Luxury luggage company Rimowa has unveiled its third store in Kuala Lumpur at The Exchange TRX, expanding its presence in Malaysia’s capital. Spanning 100 square metres, the new boutique is distinguished by the brand’s minimalist design featuring a terrazzo stone facade. It offers the full range of Rimowa’s iconic products, such as the instantly recognisable grooved aluminium Original and Classic suitcases, as well as the Never Still collection. There’s also a dedicated personalisation service for Classic Alumininium suitcases, and a hot stamping machine to customise handcrafted leather goods. Plus, the Maison’s City Sticker wall allows customers to add vibrant colours to the space while creating new memories of their own. 

 

BACHA COFFEE

Hot on the heels of its debut in Suria KLCC, Bacha Coffee welcomes its second store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX. Founded in Marrakech in 1910, the brand celebrates quality and heritage with its latest destination that encompasses its iconic Coffee Room, Coffee Boutique, and Takeaway counter—all within 2,500 square feet of retail space. 

Customers can shop from a selection of over 200 coffee blends harvested from more than 35 countries across the globe to bring home. Alternatively, the dine-in area seats 40 for an immersive coffee experience, while indulging in an assortment of signature croissants and pastries.

 

CAFE KITSUNÉ

French-Japanese lifestyle brand Maison Kitsuné opened its highly anticipated cafe offshoot, Cafe Kitsuné, in Malaysia for the first time on the ground floor of The Exchange TRX. White oak wood and brushed stainless-steel counters define the interiors, with the bar counter taking centre stage. Burnt orange ceramic walls inject colour to the space in a herringbone pattern, complementing the adjacent seating area that’s adorned with jade green ceramics.

The unique open-plan space further features display windows, whilst verdant greenery add a touch of nature’s lushness to the cafe. Designed to complement the shopping experience, Cafe Kitsuné’s menu offers an array of sandwiches and quiches, alongside viennoiseries and desserts for sweet tooths and crafted beverages for caffeine addicts. The premium cafe is the 28th outlet globally and the fourth in Southeast Asia, after Bangkok, Singapore, and Manila.

 

ROYAL SELANGOR

Where: L1.100.0, Level 1

Royal Selangor welcomed another store at The Exchange TRX, expanding its commitment to sharing the art of quality pewter around the country. Spanning 1,124 square feet, the store is thoughtfully designed to offer the complete retail experience, showcasing the brand’s signature pewter items through tinted-glass displays and presenting a visually arresting ambiance with the use of LED screens. 

The new store will also offer a wide array of Royal Selangor products, including drinkware, décor, accessories, gift items, and collectibles. Further, the store features Comyns, a sterling silver brand with a history dating back to the 17th century, which joined the Royal Selangor family in 1993. It will occupy a dedicated space within the store, offering exquisitely crafted centrepieces, home décor, and gift items. Aside from this unique retail space, Royal Selangor also unveiled the opening of a concession inside Seibu.
