Move over London, there’s a newly crowned World’s Best Bar for 2022. And no, it’s not from New York either. For the first time since the World’s 50 Best Bars’ inception in 2009, a bar outside of these two metropolitans has taken the No. 1 spot on the list.
The coveted title went to Barcelona’s Paradiso bar on Tuesday evening, when the creme de la creme of the world’s bar industry gathered for the reveal of the annual list in the Spanish city. Besides Paradiso, two other Catalonian bars made it to the top 10 on this year’s list. Sips was named Highest Climber this year, jumping from the No. 37 spot in 2021 to No. 3. Meanwhile, Two Schmucks took the No. 7 spot.

On the other hand, only eight bars in Asia made the list this year, down from 15 in 2021. Of this number, Singapore’s Jigger & Pony was the highest entry at No. 12, after placing second in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list in April.
