Hoifan Company is Jalan Sin Chew Kee’s newest resident, calling itself a “kopitiam with a twist”. Each dish is reminiscent of a local breakfast classic but given contemporary twist. For example, its chicken rice takes the form of fried poached chicken atop aromatic rice. Don’t miss out on its Wagyu char kuey teow either. For a dish from beyond Malaysian borders, try its Wagyu hamburg steak rice bowl or give its jianbing guozi a shot.

Beloved waffle spot Fluffed has debuted Flurrē, its bingsu shop in Taman Universiti. You’re guaranteed a feast for both your eyes and appetites with a space just as appealing as its menu. Its black sesame bingsu is a leading choice, topped with pandan taro balls, panda pudding, and more. However, its “salmon sashimi don” takes the prize for most quirky item on the menu. While it may look just like a regular salmon rice bowl, this dish is actually a winning combination of coconut milk snow, mango strawberry “sashimi”, beetroot mango “ikura”, mango cubes, and mango ice cream
