Find the flavours of an Italian summer at Mauceri! Taking up the main restaurant space at Kloé Hotel from 5 July until September, this husband-and-wife-run brand is finally taking its pastas into a brick-and-mortar space that is their own. As expected, the menu will detail many bright iterations of its fresh pasta in all sorts of fun shapes as well as other unpretentious yet refined plates, all made from scratch. Some dishes you can expect include a peashoot burrata, porcini tagliatelle, and duck with preserved lemon. Because it might not be one of the permanent new restaurants in KL (for now) opening this July 2025, we recommend snapping up your reservations ASAP!

Tasteful and thoughtful modern European plates take centre stage at Cézanne, a new Desa Parkcity restaurant named after the French impressionist and painter. With it being set within the Qing Gallery, it can come as no surprise that the plates here are also treated as works of art. On the current menu, you’ll find dishes such as cured striped jack with tomato water, fig vinegar, and ginger flower snow; lobster with red pepper purée and fermented chilli; and seaweed tart with tofu cream and burnt chilli pesto.

Address: Block C-G-01, Plaza Arkadia, 3, Jalan Intisari, Desa Parkcity, 52200 Kuala Lumpur

The second of the two new yakitori restaurants in KL to check out this July 2025, Yakitori Lab is Solaris Mont Kiara’s latest skewer-centric addition. This super casual eatery from the Oribe Sushi Group is the Malaysian cousin of Fukuoka’s Murasaki Yakitori Kenkyujo, where the bites are known for their smokiness and irresistible flavour. The Nagasaki-born chef expertly mans the grill, churning out orders that are timed to perfection. You’ll find just about every cut of chicken here, alongside juicy slices of pork belly served in a variety of combinations. We’re particularly excited about the grilled onigiri and pork belly rice cakes in seaweed. Adventurous eaters also shouldn’t miss out on its raw marinated chicken offal and grilled chicken liver, cooked rare.

Previously known as Underground Burger, the eatery has returned at The Campus Ampang, flipping patties like they never left. The Old School Smash Burger also makes a comeback, complete with its creamy house-made peanut dressing and double Angus beef patties. Over in TTDI, Monkey Coffee Cup has opened its doors, serving hearty Korean-Italian fare. Run by siblings You Shin and Gina, who hail from the South Korean capital, the eatery boasts its very own Italian-built pizza oven that is responsible for firing out its hand-tossed pizzas. Go for its Gangnam bulgogi pizza for something familiar yet fun or opt for the Hongdae buldak pizza if you’re looking for a slice with some spice. Its large plates of pasta are also worth ordering, especially its Truffle Sunny Pasta and bulgogi cream pasta. Bulk up your meal with some dessert plus coffee and you’re good to go!
