#BUROEats: 9 New cafes and restaurants to visit in Klang Valley in February 2023

Where to eat in the Klang Valley this month: A Latin American restaurant in Damansara Heights, a Taiwanese-style dessert cafe in Subang Jaya, and a modern Euro-Asian eatery in TTDI are among the hottest new additions to the local F&B landscape.

1. Sushi Mew

It seems like there’s a new omakase restaurant opening every month (not that we’re complaining), the latest of which is Sushi Mew at The Westin Kuala Lumpur. Operated by the same team behind EMP KL that also recently opened at the hotel, Sushi Mew offers traditional edomae cuisine with a hint of modern flair. The KL location is the third outlet to open after Hong Kong and Singapore, featuring classic wooden interiors and counter seats for an intimate dining experience.

El Kano officially made its mark in January, boasting several innovative concepts to elevate the dining experience. Notably, its main projection-screen is designed to immerse patrons in different worlds, from outer space to under the sea. The rest of the restaurant and bar looks just as futuristic, featuring an exterior that looks like a Star Trek base and lighting fixtures in the shape of planets. As for the food menu, options include seafood platters and European picks spanning Spanish paella to French escargot.
