Buro Spotlights: BURO’s 2024 Raya Open House
Wrapping up Raya
To mark the joyous festivities and the closing of Eid, we hosted our Raya Open House in collaboration with Cafe Colombo at The Exchange TRX. Drawing in Kuala Lumpur’s top trendsetters and influencers, this event—emceed by the dashing Fiqrie Dahari—was a gathering of Melayu Klasik style, culture and luxury. Read on for the details of BURO’s 2024 Raya Open House and all its highlights.
To start, Chef Akila Sanka shared his menu comprising Malaysian flavours, with dishes such as pulled duck rendang and satay. For those sweet cravings, a selection of Malaya kuih and pandan cakes were served as well as a Godiva ice cream station and apam balik stall. These were complimented by refreshing mocktails like an Asamboi cooler and traditional beverages like teh tarik. French Bloom, our official beverage partner, treated guests to non-alcoholic bubbly from Southern France, available in two enticing varieties: French Bloom Blanc and French Bloom Rose.
Habib Jewels dressed a distinguished lineup of guests, including Shalma Ainaa, Fyza Kadir, Syamim Farid and Alicia Amin—our May cover star—who complemented her traditional Afiq M ensemble with some sparkle. Our very own Editor-in-Chief, Sarah Hani Jamil, and our host, Fiqrie Dahari, were also bejewelled alongside the face of Habib Jewels 2024, Sharifah Rose. Adding on to the excitement, the De Fam trio—singers Azira Shafinaz, Sophia Liana, and Cik Manggis—graced us with a live performance of their viral hit Alamak Raya Lagi! and the hit song Panas.
The evening wasn’t just about indulging in food but also recognising style and fashion, with an array of impeccably dressed guests gracing the occasion. In recognition of their stylish efforts, we bestowed the title of ‘Best-Dressed’ to Nia Atasha, Gabriel Cheah, and Daiyan Trisha who walked away with Leica SOFORT 2 cameras each. Additionally, our Lucky Draw allowed guests to walk away from the event with luxurious stays at notable hotels from the Lexis Hotel Group and The Ascott such as Imperial Lexis Kuala Lumpur, Lexus Hibiscus Port Dickson, and Ascott Star KLCC Kuala Lumpur.
Guests were thrilled to discover a treasure trove in their goodie bags, featuring products from Rituals such as the Sakura shower foam, hand gel, and body cream, along with a box of delicious Bacha Coffee. Adding to the excitement, a voucher for a 3-day, 2-night stay at The Ascott at Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu was tucked inside, promising a relaxing getaway for all our lucky guests.
