1. Lushbowl

Healthy eating is easy when you know how or where to go. Lushbowl is a new spot serving sashimi and smoothie bowls which have seen countless positive reviews. The portion, in particular and most importantly, is satisfactory. Simon Says is one of the highly recommended items off their menu because: Truffle ponzu dressing.

2. Zao: Breakfast Anytime

The interiors: Minimal (think Kinfolk). The food: Fresh grilled sandwiches with fun combinations (pineapple pork loin sandwiches, anyone?). They even make their own cold pressed juices.

3. Ebony & Ivory Coffee

A quaint little cafe almost hidden among a row of shop houses, it’s easy to feel at home instantly  at Ebony & Ivory with its well executed dishes, decent coffee and a cosy interior. Try the delicious rice bowls or the Mango Fried Rice!

4. Piu Piu Piu

Inspired by the standing bars of Tokyo, Piu Piu Piu makes for a great spot to enjoy a quiet day with coffee (or alcoholic drinks) and desserts. The Lemon Sour Plus, for example, is an interesting blend of preserved lemons with housemade soda and a splash of shochu. For those with a sweet tooth, try the fresh banana cake or the gula Melaka apple crumble tarts.

5. Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar

It’s the latest IT-eatery in town with quite the personality. There’s no right label to the type of cuisine it serves but trust us when we say it’s akin to comfort food with a playful spin. Actually, you can read our full review here.
