The Bape x Coach collection is now here in Malaysia—plus other fashion news you’ve missed

The Bape x Coach Collection is finally here in Malaysia

In a unique collaboration, Coach has teamed up with the pioneers of Japanese streetwear, Bape, to create a collection that celebrates the optimism, attitude and authencity of their hometowns, New York and Tokyo. The result is a collection that features ready-to-wear, leathergoods, footwear and accessories, each highlighting Bape’s authority in streetwear and Coach’s legacy of craftsmanship. Some of the must-haves from it include bags, hoodies and t-shirts printed with a limited edition pattern comprising the House’s iconic Signature with Bape’s Ape Head logo. The campaign for the collection too features a cast that rightly promotes the same vibes: Megan Thee Stallion, Cordae, and Kōki.

The Bape x Coach collection is now available online. Alternatively, you can WhatsApp the Coach Pavilion Elite store at +6012 700 2866 to enquire about Coach on Delivery.

Fendi launches the FW21 Women’s Collection

Kim Jones certainly did not disappoint with his first runway collection for Fendi. The Autumn/Winter 2021 Women’s Collection pays tribute to not just Fendi’s heritage, but to the dynasty of strong women behind it while ensuring it features pieces that women would surely want to wear. Some of the highlights from it include:

The Fendi First Bag: Consider it one of the statement pieces of the whole collection, with the tilted Fendi monogram, the soft, clean lines and variations in leather, wool, python, shearling and mink. Not to mention, three sizes (mini, small and medium) for fans to pick from according to their preference or lifestyle. The must-have bag is a cause of celebration too due to its unique design, which deviates far from the Maison’s usual bags.

The Fendi First Shoe: As one may instantly recognise, this shoe has been inspired by the archival shape from the late ’90s. It remains one-of-a-kind due to its notable heel structure, making the foot appear as though it is floating. Beyond its distinctive heel, the upper part of the shoe is made with a range of luxurious materials that represent and portray the concepts and inspirations behind the entire show. Moreover, alongside The Fendi First Bag, these shoes mark the first RTW collection by Kim Jones.

Fendi O’Lock Accessories: New creative director of jewellery, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, has produced a series of jewels with cutting-edge lines and a range of minimal, sleek and contemporary shapes. While the designs look modern and unique, Delfina Delettrez Fendi too was given the challenge of reworking the institutional, timeless FF logo into something new. And it was clearly a success.

The Devil Wears Prada is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and like many other great films, the cast is reuniting for a good cause. To be held over Zoom, the call with the film’s star-studded cast is up for auction in a bid by the Lollipop Theater Network, an organisation dedicated to creating entertainment experiences for children facing life-threatening illnesses and diseases. The lucky winner of the auction will have a chance to have a private 10-minute chat with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, while contributing much-needed funds to help keep the organisation’s programs going.

According to WWD, the highest bid so far is US$8,500 with the estimated value of the prize to be around US$50,000. The auction will end on August 3.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ has a new (and fashionable) judge

ICYMI: Jean Paul Gaultier has signed up to be a judge on the French version of Dancing with the Stars. The French fashion designer is renowned for his work in haute couture as well as his stylised and conceptual runways (one of which was Grease-inspired back in 2014), so surely he’s no stranger to the art of ‘showcasing’. Now that he has said goodbye to the world of runway forever, who would make a better judge than him? Although it is already considered a hit show, fans are more than excited for this season since last year’s season was cancelled due to the pandemic. With Jean Paul Gaultier as a new face on the reality dance competition show, it makes its return after a year all the better.
