The leader and brains of BTS, RM (formerly known as Rap Monster) is loved for his sexy voice, jaw-dropping rap skills, and witty personality. Born Kim Namjoon, we’re highlighting the star’s hottest looks in honour of his 29th birthday. But first, here’s a brief history of his road to success.
RM is one of the founding members of BTS, alongside Suga and J-Hope. Then just 16 years old, then underground rapper was recruited in 2010 by Big Hit CEO Bang Si-Hyuk and accepted the offer immediately—without his parents’ consent. However, all the effort has paid off as the full group debuted in 2014 and shot up in popularity with the release of I Need U in 2015.
As ARMYs know, RM is more than just a pretty face with a great voice and slick moves—he’s also got brains! He has an IQ of 148 and was among the top one percent of high scorers in his university entrance examinations.
Of course, his amazing feats don’t stop there. He is also a favourite on the fashion scene, having been appointed as the first and only ambassador of Bottega Veneta as of March 2023.
