Trust the Italians to know how to make a fashion statement. Milan Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2020 saw a number of buzzworthy events, from Emporio Armani’s “empty” show to the creative director’s “controversial” comments (more on that here) and Prada’s big news about Raf Simons joining the team. Over to the street style scene, like-minded Milanos banded together for a round of enviable fashion gang OOTDs.
It was no surprise that the accompanying runway saw many head-turning looks. Moschino’s Marie Antoinette-themed show takes the cake with extravagant gowns inspired by the French monarch’s favourite dessert. We’d like a slice, please!
The eyewear took to our fancy, too. In particular, a wide and moustache-shaped pair that extended past the temples. Very useful for blocking out the sun, and unwanted sass and shade. No stranger to drama, Dolce & Gabbana (remember all that hoohaa that went down in 2018?) released one with dangling gold charms and (grandma glasses chain in tow). The sound alone would warn potential threats to steer clear. On a more wholesome and positive note, GCDS‘ iteration literally tells us to see the world through a floral lens. Yes, killing them with kindness is the best approach.
