NYFW SS16: Wes Gordon

Wes Gordon played with movement while incorporating the minutest of details into his SS’16 collection made up entirely of clean ivory, bold yellow and an occasional slate blue—fitting in appropriately with the spring/summer season.

There was plenty of irony involved: juxtaposing leather bermuda shorts with delicate white chiffon tops; plaid prints and black lace were combined unanimously into dresses; and femininely ruffled tops were paired with bold yellow, tailored trousers.

Coming off of past seasons’ trends, we saw pleats, ruffled hemlines, and high slits on skirts along with many sheer, airy details that made for a modernly romantic collection—both in form and function.
