Makeup lovers, take heed of the latest launches by major beauty brands this week—Chanel takes centre stage in Pavilion to show off the latest Rouge Allure Ink Fusion matte liquid lipsticks; Shu Uemura adds two new texture additions to its Rouge Unlimited lipstick range (satin and matte); while Armani Beauty’s doors are open for anyone who’s looking to expand their existing makeup stash (must-have: haute couture fragrances that smell as good as they look).

On the celebrity front, Sophie Turner mocks diet culture advocates on Instagram, Charlize Theron updates her bowl cut, and Lancôme announces its new celebrity global ambassador.

The first Armani Beauty store officially opens in Malaysia

Despite an early store opening to the public (27 September was the official opening date), Giorgio Armani Beauty threw a star-studded launch party just last evening to celebrate the inauguration of the first ever Armani Beuaty boutique in Malaysia. Personalities including actresses Nora Danish and Amelia Henderson alongside models Jojo Goh and Rubini Sambanthan graced the ribbon-cutting ceremony by the storefront in Mid Valley Megamall.

Armani Beauty in Mid Valley carries a wide array of products including the Armani/Privé Haute Couture fragrances, Rouge D’Armani Matte Lipsticks, and My Armani To Go Cushion.

Charlize Theron is seriously rocking her boy-cut

Just when we thought Charlize Theron couldn’t look any better after debuting that bowl cut for her role in the upcoming Fast & Furious 9, the statuesque star upped the ante by taking a few inches off her arresting hairdo. Her new pixie cut (courtesy of go-to hairstylist Adir Abergel) is ultra-layered and très chic, drawing attention to her stunning bone structure.

Amanda Seyfried is Lancôme’s new ambassador

Amanda Seyfried now joins the ranks of award-winning stars including Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, and Kate Winslet as the new global ambassador of Lancôme, with ad campaigns slated for release in 2020. “It’s hugely exciting to be welcomed to this incredible family of women ambassadors, all so different and yet all so united in their mission to represent Lancôme, while also embodying the positive virtues and values that empower and bring happiness and self-fulfillment to women around the world,” says Seyfried.

Previously the face of Clé de Peau Beauté, the 34-year old actress’ latest work include a voice role in animated film Scoob! and upcoming psychological horror film You Should Have Left by David Koepp.

Shiseido acquires a 100 per cent stake in Drunk Elephant

Shiseido adds a new brand to its burgeoning portfolio that includes Nars, Laura Mercier, Clé de Peau Beauté, Bareminerals etc: Drunk Elephant. Acquiring the cult favourite beauty brand for an astounding USD$845 million, the Japanese beauty conglomerate’s decision is reportedly part of its plan to increase its global presence.

According to WWD, Drunk Elephant founder Tiffany Masterson remains the company’s chief creative officer and will assume a new role as president. Masterson has announced on Instagram that the brand’s formulations, price points and cruelty-free stance will not change.

Sophie Turner trolls Instagram influencers who promote detox teas

Sophie Turner is not impressed with Instagram influencers peddling detox tea and she isn’t afraid of calling them out. In a recent Instagram story, the Game of Thrones actress threw shade via a mocking, American-accented three-liner (coupled with an Insta-filter on that gave her thick lips and pink cheeks).

“Hey, guys, just kind of going for my influencer look today. Today I just wanted to promote this new powdered stuff that you put in your tea, and basically it makes you sh*t your brains out and is totally, really, really bad for me to be promoting to young women and young people everywhere. But I don’t really give a f*ck, because I’m getting paid money. Influencer life!”

Turner isn’t the first celebrity who’s protesting this Instagram diet culture. The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil called out Cardi B and Kim Kardashian West last year on Twitter for promoting appetite-suppressing products. Shortly after, she then started an online petition on stopping “celebrities promoting toxic diet products on social media” on her body positivity movement, I Weigh.
