In this week’s beauty headlines, we took a closer look at the Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Lip Maestro and To Go Cushion Compact at a launch party, Marc Jacobs Beauty‘s limited-edition collection Lust & Stardust that’s made for glitter lovers, and Hollywood’s favourite foundation brand, Koh Gen Do. Armani Beauty introduces the new Lip Maestro and To Go Cushion Compact

 

The much-anticipated arrival of Armani Beauty on our shores came with a bang. The brand threw a lauch party at Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur to introduce Armani Beauty Stars, comprising the iconic Lip Maestro Liquid Lipstick that’s highly-pigmented, super creamy and leaves a velvety texture on the lips; and the brand new My Armani To Go Cushion Compact, an essence-in-foundation formula that offers lightweight coverage that’s buildable and ultra comfortable on the skin.

Beyoncé’s dad advocates for early breast cancer detection

 

Beyoncé’s father Matthew Knowles shared his journey as a breast cancer survivor just this Wednesday on American morning TV show Good Morning America. The 67-year old former manager of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles revealed that he had to undergo surgery after detecting a risk via a mammogram, and that he also had the BRCA2 gene mutation that puts him at a higher risk for other types of cancer.

“I learned that the numbers that we have for men on breast cancer are not adequate because we don’t have enough men that come forward that take the exam,” he said on the show. “I’m hoping by me coming here today, speaking out, letting folks know that you can survive this, but it has to be early detection. I can’t overemphasize the word ‘early.'”
