The opening of Alta marks an exciting return to the landscape, bringing the legacy of previously shuttered restaurant Sitka back to life. Though it is a new opening, it’s bringing with it the same energy, ethos, and eats that made its predecessor a cult favourite. Expect modern, creative plates that will hit all the right notes—including nostalgia. When you do eventually take your seat here, make sure you include a plate of its kimchi rarebit flatbread with whipped ricotta and hot honey in your order.

Taking over every local foodie’s social media feed recently is Modu, the newly opened samgyetang specialist at The Exchange TRX. The menu is simple and straightforward: six variations of the staple Korean broth, each boiled for over 12 hours for optimal own nourishing benefits and flavour profiles. To bulk up your meal, there is a selection of sides for you to choose from, including a minari pancakes, and a kalguksu option for those who want hand-cut noodles instead of chicken.

Right after getting all warm and fuzzy inside from the samgyetang, you can cool down with some tofu-based gelato from Tofu G. The sister brand of Modu, this dessert specialist is all about keeping your sweet treats clean, intentional, and curated. Its selection features eight flavours, including a handful of vegan-friendly, dairy-free options and two Malaysia exclusives (pomegranate and matcha). Our favourite of the lot has to be the original tofu gelato as well as the pistachio gelato.

The steaks and other grilled proteins are obviously the main attraction, expertly prepared and charred before hitting your table.
