Filipó is here for all your Italian-Japanese comfort food needs. Everything from its decor to its tableware sits perfectly at the intersection of casual and elevated. Its menu is dotted with everything you’d crave for a relaxed meal with a touch of sophistication. We’re loving the sound of its scallops with kombu butter, Wagyu lasagna al forno, as well as the truffle fondue tortellini with Wagyu tallow and duck bacon. Anyone who can’t say no to a steak also shouldn’t miss out on its selection of Australian Wagyu, all served with your choice of sides and a sauce.

Spot the neon orange dot on its door and you’ve found your way into Pixie & Vesper, Jalan Kemuja’s newest tenant, serving fun and funky plates by chef Joeri Timmermans. Its space feels like a good friend’s apartment, where the food is well-executed and drinks don’t stop flowing. Its menu is built on flavours that are familiar and given a modern twist. We’re talking otoro on thousand-layer potatoes with caviar and grilled Japanese red snapper with a kombu butter sauce.

Leading the hotel’s F&B destinations is Merdeka Grill, offering guests a modern flame-forward menu with premium meats, seafood, and locally-sourced produce. 5. DOUBLE ZERO PIZZA

It looks like the local pizza scene has welcomed a new member with Double Zero Pizza. Its menu of sourdough pizzas go far beyond your usual toppings. For something a little fancy, its Truffle Kingdom will do the trick. Meanwhile, Odin’s Lox brings a Scandinavian touch to your meal with beetroot-cured salmon and creamy ricotta. Here, your meal doesn’t end with the pizzas, as its tiramisu and banana pudding are must-haves too.

6. SHADED STONE

A few steps away from its big sister Marble Emporium, Shaded Stone enters the chat with its scaffolding frames, large fabric shades, and—of course—marble slabs. Here, you can sip your day away in its outdoor space amidst some gorgeous stones and bring your furkid along for the day too. Its menu only includes drinks, so you’ll be kept cool even in the heat.

7. SIP N STEP

Over in Ampang, Sip n Step has introduced itself as your next cosy, caffeine-filled hideout from the hustle. The café doubles as the office of the interior designer and architect owners, who will soon be welcoming a coworking space into its walls too. There are both espresso-based and pourover drinks on the menu, as well as a friendly little pug named Fries for your petting pleasure.

8. SOYA SOBA
