Chanel reveals Lily-Rose Depp as new muse of the Première Édition Originale

Chanel’s long-time muse, Lily-Rose Depp, is officially the new face of Chanel watches. 

Fresh off the finale of The Idol, Depp returns to her modelling roots with the French luxury House. Having starred in multiple campaigns since 2015—from sunglasses to makeup, and most recently, the Chanel 22 bag—the Maison casts the 24-year-old beauty into its realm of exquisite timepieces. The actress will star in the upcoming Première Édition Originale campaign, which will be revealed on 1 September 2023.

The timeless Première Édition Originale was first introduced in 1987 by the brand’s Artistic Director, Jacques Helleu, and has become an emblematic timepiece of the luxury fashion house ever since. The iconic dial takes inspiration from codes of the House, with a case that resembles the stopper of the N°5 fragrance bottle. 

While re-issued Première models are enhanced with subtle touch-ups, the House has always preserved the essence of the timepiece—with details like the leather interlaced bracelet that’s beloved by avid luxury timepiece collectors and It-girls of the fashion scene.

As anticipation is building up for those waiting, the actress also expressed her joy about her upcoming endeavour with Chanel.

“Beautiful, delicate, chic, classic. I think that it’s a watch that only Chanel can make!”

Lily-Rose’s lasting relationship with Chanel

The model, actress and style icon became the global ambassador for the house at the age of 16, following her mother, Vanessa Paradis’, footsteps as the face of the Coco fragrance back in 1991. Depp has been marked as the youngest Chanel brand ambassador ever, making her debut in the Chanel eyewear collection in September 2015. The young star’s chic, stylish, yet relatable charm merges seamlessly with the French house and captures the hearts of the public, making her one of the most well-known global ambassadors for the House today.
