Following a partnership with Pirelli, Roger Dubuis continues to race down the track with an exciting collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Considering the performance DNA of both brands, call it a dream partnership if you will. Roger Dubuis is known for its progressive complications and disruptive materials in the horological world, while Lamborghini blazes a trail in the automotive industry with a penchant for thrilling aesthetics and cutting-edge engineering.
Together, they have recently unveiled the Excalibur Aventador S. It comes in two versions, both bearing the same movement technology but different Lamborghini colour codes, namely Giallo Orion, a bold yellow, and Arancio Argos, a vivid reddish orange.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S is powered by the all-new double balance hand-wound Duotor calibre, a Lamborghini-exclusive movement reminiscent of an engine under the hood of an Aventador. A nod to the performance-enhancing placement of Lamborghini engines, the double balance wheel is inclined at a right angle and supported by holders shaped like triangular wheel suspension assemblies.
The case on the Giallo Orion is made using multilayered carbon. On the other hand, the Arancio Argos version sports a C-SMC carbon case, the same material that is used for Lamborghini cars—this marks the world premiere use of the material in watchmaking. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S in Giallo Orion is limited to production of 88 pieces, while just 8 pieces of the exclusive Arancio Argos model were made.
