No other red carpet event is quite as exciting on the fashion and beauty front as the Met Gala. Just take Cardi B’s extravagant oxblood Thom Browne gown or Janelle Monae’s winking dress (yes, blink and you’ll miss it!) paired with a stack of hats for example—looks that are guaranteed to induce double takes. How do you give an already-OTT look even more oomph? By way of spectacular jewels, of course.
As this year’s Met Gala co-chair Lady Gaga peeled off the layers of her Brandon Maxwell ensemble, revealing four looks in total, she also unveiled a stunning Tiffany & Co. geometric choker resting on her neck, featuring a butterfly crafted in 18k yellow gold to seal the statement piece with fantastical glamour. Other glorious looks we love include Lupita Nyong’O’s vibrant Versace gown punctuated by a rainbow of heritage Bvlgari jewels, as well as Lily Collins channeling Priscilla Presley in a Giambattista Valli couture gown with a sweeping train and regal emerald creations from the Cartier Magnitude High Jewellery collection. Lucy Boynton, on the other hand, chose to go with toned-down silhouettes by Harry Winston to complement her dreamy, muted pastel palette for the evening.
