For the month of April, Akâr Dining is calling Ed.ju Omakase home and hosting a series of collaborations and special menus. Its inaugural chapter is dubbed Akâr Kappo, which will see chef Aidan Low masterfully pair produce from Japan and Malaysia. Using his training in Japanese cuisine and expertise in local ingredients, Low will present an exquisite tasting menu for diners to experience a truly unique meal. Look forward to dishes such as aged tuna with mulberry sauce and claypot crab koshihikari rice.

Have you left your Raya preparations to the last minute? Don’t worry, we’re sure you’re not the only one. Head on down to REXKL for your eleventh hour baju raya, accessories, and gift shopping! Its lineup consists of local clothing labels, beauty brands, and more. They include Larimar Cosmetics, Le Lunaire, Age of Crystals, Supukupu, and Sattica. There will also be local DJs present to keep the beats up throughout the weekend.

3. CHEERS TO OLIVIA DELI TURNING TWO AT ITS BIRTHDAY BASH

Celebrations are in order at Olivia Deli as the beloved Mediterranean restaurant is marking its second birthday! The team will be unveiling bites from its brand-new menu at the party and making a special announcement about a new venture they’ve been working on! There will be drinks from Vianau Wines going around to celebrate the occasion as well. You’ll spot DJs Rudy LaFaber and Oddjob on the decks from 2pm to 8pm, getting the tunes flowing for the party.

Bringing together art and technology, the arts and culture hub is now home to KA.IN, a community space that celebrates artistry, diversity, and sustainability. During this period, Samsung is taking over with Galaxy AI to showcase the technology’s powerful capabilities. Malaysian artists Dhani Illiani, Amani Azlin, and Shahrina Shahrin have created three experiential stations—Immersive Raya Dark Room, Balik Kampung photo booth, and a Raya photography exhibition—that are all powered by Samsung Galaxy AI.

6.  VISIT ILHAM GALLERY’S LATEST EXHIBITION ‘TITIK GARIS BENTUK’

Putting the spotlight on one of the most fundamental forms of human expression, ‘Titik Garis Bentuk’ is an ode to drawing and its role in Malaysia’s contemporary art scene. The exhibition features the works of 27 artists who use drawing as a pillar in their practice. Using different materials and techniques, the pieces span a range of mediums and styles, including life-sized charcoal figures and panoramic landscapes.
