If you’re reading this, you’ve made it to the weekend! You can breathe a sigh of relief and start making your plans. Whether you want to take advantage of massive travel deals or get yourselves ready for the Raya celebrations, this Saturday (23 March) and Sunday (24 March) have lots in store for you to make the most out of your days. Without further ado, here’s the latest edition of the BURO Weekend Guide. 

 

1. CHEERS TO THE WEEKEND AT DC SELECTIONS’ ‘EUROPEAN WINE AFFAIR’

When: 23 March 2024 | 12pm to 10pm

Where: REXKL

Price: RM50 per ticket

DC Selections is hosting its one-day-only ‘European Wine Affair’ this Saturday in collaboration with REXKL, Fafaba, and fellow wine experts from Unwined. You’ll be transported to the coasts of France, Italy, and Spain as you sip your way through some of the region’s most refreshing pours from over 30 labels and 15 producers. There will also be kombucha from Fafaba, bites courtesy of Kai Nusantara Eatery, and tunes by an in-house DJ. Each ticket will get you one complimentary glass of wine or kombucha, and a wine glass to take home. Additional glasses of wine can be purchased via coupons available at the event.

2. WELCOME THE SEASON OF STRIPES WITH MOTHERCHUCKERS AND 103 COFFEE

Where: 103 Coffee, APW Bangsar

Sip away the Sunday scaries and get into the vines and vinyl at Fafaba with fellow wine fiends. Fono will be in charge of the beats, while Fafaba will get the pours going. Each ticket will get you a glass of house-pour wine, so make sure you don’t miss out on an evening of tunes and vino.

Get Raya ready with Kedai KL’s latest marketplace! The Huru Raya Bazaar will be open on both days of the weekend, ready to help with your preparations for the festive season. There will be plenty of accessories, baju Raya, and kuih Raya for you to browse. Vendors include headscarf designers The Orchid Market, crochet artisan Brightey Crochet, baked goods specialist Elysian Bakes, and more.

5. TAKE IN THE FESTIVE ENERGY AT TWILLY RAYA BAZAAR

Raya prep season is in full swing and Twilly & Treats is joining in with its annual Raya Bazaar. The lineup features a range of local brands—from food to apparel—and personalities who are coming in with the best they have to offer. Feast your eyes (and wallets) on preloved fashion, kidswear, home decor, accessories, beauty products, and more! The bazaar will be running over two weekends, so you have ample time to make your way there and browse to your heart’s content. One of the most beloved bazaars of the season is back with over 90 vendors and nine F&B partners ready to impress! Its lineup features notable local clothing labels—including Khairrins, Saoi and Shals—and other homegrown brands, such as Gigi and Mui, so you can get in some retail therapy for the weekend. You’ll also be able to snack or break your fast with one of its nine food and beverage vendors.

7. CHECK TRAVEL DESTINATIONS OFF YOUR BUCKET LIST AT MATTA FAIR 2024

Where: Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur

Price: Free entry

Malaysia’s most popular travel fair is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever! Not only has it found a new home in MITEC, but it has also opened the floor to more booths for you to browse and shop for deals. Make your way through its 1,500 vendors, where you’ll be able to score deals of a lifetime and participate in games to win exclusive prizes. There will also be food trucks and refreshment stations around the venue so you can stay hydrated or break your fast. For those coming from Sunway Putra Mall or KL Sentral, shuttle services are available to get you there and back.
