Welcome back to another edition of the BURO Weekend Guide, where we point you in the direction of all the must-know happenings in and around the Klang Valley! You’re probably still in the midst of celebrating Chinese New Year or simply visiting friends even if you’re not ringing in the Year of the Snake yourself. However, there are still tons of events going on beyond the open houses that you might not want to miss. Without further ado, here are our top seven events falling on 8 and 9 February 2025.

Pasar Seloka has returned with its ever-popular Raya bazaars! Kicking off its series is Seloka Oasis, hosted in collaboration with Whip Events. Pop over to Bangsar Shopping Centre to get to know their lineup of vendors. From headscarves and leather goods to jewellery and kaftans, there will be tons for you to check out as you get ready for the Raya season! Brands you might recognise include Gung Jewellery, The Petal Archive, Sunday Bedding, and Telekung TCO.

2. BRING ALL YOUR ‘GRRRLS! TO THE FRONT!’ FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE PARTY

Want a good rave party that will serve you intense diva energy? Then strap up your boots, put on your fishnets, and pack on the eyeliner for GRRRLS! TO THE FRONT. Presented by Tong Tong Asia, this electrifying party will feature an incredible lineup of both established and up-and-coming female-fronted bands from across Southeast Asia. Rock on with the freshest it-girls such as Grrl Gang from Indonesia, Yonlapa from Thailand, Sobs from Singapore, as well as Malaysia’s very own Hawa and Fuad with a special DJ set by Aidaho.

It’s all about the girls this weekend at The Gasket Alley with ‘Slay.Maaa’, featuring over 100 women-led businesses covering arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery, and accessories! Hunt down your next vintage find, grab a new pair of earrings for your last-minute Chinese New Year celebrations, or simply come to bask in the vibes, it’s all up to you! Not only will you be bringing home some new outfits, you could also be leaving with fresh new ink on your body thanks to the team of tattoo artists who will be on-site all weekend long. Finally, keeping the vibes flowing will be Coffeeboy Records, SmoothBrainGirly, and Izzy, while a range of F&B vendors will keep you well-fed.

6. EMBRACE COLOURS AND EMOTIONS WITH MISHELL LEONG’S ‘KALEIDOSCOPE’ EXHIBITION AT HARTA

Where: Harta

Malaysian artist Mishell Leong is returning home for her first-ever solo exhibition on local soil. Titled ‘Kaleidoscope’, the collection features pieces made specifically for this event that encourage exploration of emotions through its colours and texture. A former chartered accountant, Leong has made art for private collections spanning the globe from Switzerland to New Zealand.

7. GET YOUR FIRST GLIMPSE OF INKAA’S DEBUT COLLECTION, PENUNJUK PERASAAN

After years of research and crafting, Inkaa is finally ready to show themselves to the world. Presenting its first-ever collection, the local label collaborated with local artisans in Terengganu to bring this line to life. Alongside the launch of its apparel, the brand will also be debuting its very own brand book.
