A centrepiece of the local dining scene during the 1970s and 1980s, Chalet was one of the only restaurants serving European cuisine in the city. Many made reservations at this Equatorial Hotel restaurant for its famous table-side preparation and raclette. To the joy of nostalgic foodies in KL, Chalet is making a comeback at its original location, now known as EQ Kuala Lumpur. The Chalet experience will only be available during dinner with a special menu that features all of its greatest hits, including its beloved raclette Valaisanne, Crêpes Suzette, and Swiss cheese fondue.

Where: Harta

Inspired by her own dog, Ampersand, emerging artist Ping has chosen to dedicate an entire exhibit to canine behaviour. Through her work, Ping explores the definition of “strangeness” through her pet’s habits. In the exhibit are both sculptures and paintings that depict Ampersand in day-to-day moments with the dog representing many things for the artist. “There is the black dog, a metaphor for depression, that I first came across in a medical pamphlet; then, the black dog—the actual, living, breathing companion, who greets me when I get home; and also, the black “dogs”, that each took me weeks and weeks to knead and shape into being, a lesson of patience,” shares Ping.
