7 Things to do in KL this weekend during RMCO: 15 & 16 August 2020

1) Savour the limited edition Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1996 whisky

The oldest whisky, aged in Glenmorangie’s bespoke casks for 23 years and distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, has a bright sunburst gold colour. Bottled at 43 per cent ABV (alcohol by volume), the limited edition whisky—matured in American white oaks from the Ozark Mountains in Missouri—is the sixth release in the Bond House Number One Collection.

Expect hints of oranges, lemons, vanilla, fudge, ginger, sweet chilli, and subtle oaky notes. Savour the indulgent creaminess of the Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1996 with a delicate finish akin to a mixture of cake, pear, and almonds. Available for purchase from Moët Hennessy Diageo Malaysia or authorised wholesalers, it is priced at RM3,280.

2) Try the new Nespresso Barista Creations for Ice range and check out seven local cafes in KL for unique creations made using the range

Developed so that coffee can reach its full potential when poured over ice, the Barista Creations For Ice range is the latest addition to Nespresso’s portfolio. There are two blends to choose from. Freddo Delicato, described as the perfect pool side blend, consists of lightly roasted Kenyan coffee whereas Freddo Intenso, a blend of South American Arabica and Indonesian Arabica beans, has an intense flavour and full-bodied finish. Barista Creations For Ice is priced at RM27 per sleeve and will be available at the Nespresso Boutiques at The Gardens Mall and One Utama Shopping Centre.

Available from 10 August to 20 September, try exclusive dessert and beverage offerings from Nespresso Malaysia’s collaboration with seven local cafes. They include Xiao by Crustz, Madhatter Desserts, Souka, Kissa X Coffee, Kek and Co, Gula Cakery, and A Pie Thing.

3) Treat yourself to the Chitose Strawberry Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

Collaborating with Chitose Agri Laboratory, Mandarin Oriental KL’s newest afternoon tea offering will be available from 1 August to 30 September 2020. In addition to being the only farm growing and selling Japanese strawberries in Malaysia, Chitose produces strawberries all year round within a three-acre space in Cameron Highlands.

Naturally sweet with a slightly crunchy texture, the strawberries have been incorporated into red and pink afternoon treats by Executive Sous Chef Gérald Genson and the pastry team. The menu includes Strawberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Chocolate Mille-feuille, Red Velvet Strawberry Mousse, Grilled Tuna with Balsamic Mayonnaise and Strawberry Caviar, as well as Bresaola Tortellini stuffed with Caramelised Onion on Strawberry Carpaccio. You will also be able to try fresh Chitose strawberries, of course.
