9 Email newsletters that deliver trustworthy and summarised news to your inbox

The world we live in is constantly changing and it can be hard to keep up with what’s happening, especially when there’s so many news stories on the internet to choose from. With the shift from print to digital media, we have all the information we need in the palm of our hands. Almost everyone with social media uses it as their main source of information, but completely relying on it for news comes with its consequences.

Social media is a great way to stay connected with people, but it should never be used as a primary source of credible news. The social media algorithm is used to keep users engaged, and the best way of doing that is by showing users news that would interest them. However, this could mean that the news you see isn’t always factual. In fact, a study has shown that fake news travels about 20 times faster than factual news. This can cause devastating outcomes by creating divisions among diverse populations and keeping communities close-minded.

The best way to avoid fake news is by reading trustworthy news sites. The problem is that we go back to where we started: Not everyone has the time to read through every article. We’ve compiled a list of great email newsletters that curate credible news for an easier read. These newsletters would be a great addition to your morning routine, paired with a cup of coffee or tea.

P/S: We (BURO Malaysia) send out an email newsletter every Wednesday, with a round-up of the week’s top stories. Scroll right down to the bottom of this page to subscribe!
