7 Things you can do this weekend: 21 – 22 May 2016

1. The Projek57 launch and its marketplace at Atria Shopping Gallery, 11am onwards, 21 May

Rekindle a movement of hope inspired by the year 1957 in Malaysia while doing a bit of charity by participating in Projek57 where their aim is to sell one million made-in-Malaysia T-shirts and forty per cent of the profits made will be channelled to help single mothers and underprivileged youths. Besides getting a tee for yourself, you can also catch Malaysian sports legends, the cast of Ola Bola and the Aseana percussion unit at the launch and there’ll be a marketplace for underprivileged teens who have undergone a 10-week entrepreneurship empowerment programme.

2. Silkscreen workshop at TH.inc Academy, Bangsar, 9am – 1pm, 21 May

You’ve seen how a silkscreen painting workshop is like in our Buro Tries and if you’ve been wanting to try your hand at it, this is your chance. TH.inc Academy’s silkscreen workshop is back and there, you’ll learn how to create your own patterns and translate them onto cloth and paper.

The workshop is priced at RM398 per person or RM320 for second timers or groups. For more information, check out the event page

3. #LoveYourLocal by Lou Shang Bar x The Kitchen Table at Lou Shang Bar & Cafe, Damansara Utama, 8pm, 21 May

How does an Assam Laksa cocktail or an alcoholic version of Sirap Bandung sound? The lovely people at Lou Shang Bar and The Kitchen Table has collaborated to bring you a delicious trio of canapés to be paired with local-inspired cocktails for a unique taste of Malaysia. The idea was so popular that the 20 May session was sold out, leading to an additional date on 21 May but only walk-ins will be accepted.

For this event, it’s RM40 per drink and RM16 per canapé platter for walk-ins. For more information, check out their Facebook or event page.
