What better way to celebrate the arrival of 2022 than with what always brings Malaysians together? Gather your nearest and dearest for a delightful New Year’s brunch to kickstart the year with abundance and new memories. Alternatively, if you need some time to, ahem, reset in the day after going all out on NYE, there’s no harm in saving the feasting for the first dinner of the year, too.

We’ve rounded up a list of New Year’s dining menus in the Klang Valley here for your consideration.

2. Enjoy New Year’s Specials at Tiffin At The Yard

When: 30 December 2021 to 2 January 2022

Where: Tiffin At The Yard

Price: Wine and Dine – RM200 | Prosecco Made Me Do It – RM250

Whether or not you’ve paid a visit to one of the most talked about food courts in town, there’s convincing reason to (re)visit Tiffin At The Yard this New Year’s weekend. Hint: it involves your pick of either bubbly or wine. Think a wine and dine package with a glass of Chardonnay to pair with a sumptuous paella dish, or a bottle of prosecco to complement an assortment of freshly shucked oyster, to name a few options. Each package comes with a table reservation at Tiffin.

3. Stream the Harry Potter Reunion on HBO Go

When: 1 January 2022

Where: HBO Go

After much hype, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will officially stream on HBO Max this New Year’s Day. Produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television with Casey Patterson and Pulse Films, the special commemorates the 20th anniversary of the first film that started it all: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which premiered in November 2001.

The special will reunite actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson—who play the three main protagonists Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger—as well as other prominent actors and filmmakers from the well-loved book-adapted film franchise. (If you watched the Friends Reunion, you’ll have a rough idea of what to expect.) In the meantime, check out five magical things from the Wizarding World that would make life so much better.

In lieu of HBO Max, Malaysian Potterheads can stream the special on HBO Go on January 1.

4. Party it up with double trouble at The Rex KL

When: 1 January 2021 (Saturday), 6pm – 11pm | 2 January 2021 (Sunday), 2pm – 7pm

The new year calls for a visit to a new bar, and we know just where you can find one. Tucked inside Rex KL, The Rex Bar is ushering in 2022 with double the trouble. In other words, you’ll get to enjoy exclusive deals on all highball cocktails only this weekend. Walk-ins are welcome. For more information, follow @therexbar on Instagram.
