The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition has arrived in Malaysia—and there are only 20 units

For many Malaysians, the Mini is one of the most recognisable automotive brands. In celebration of the original 2007 Sidewalk Edition seen in the first generation of the Mini Convertible, the brand has introduced the new Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition. Equipped with a two-litre four-cylinder Mini TwinPower Turbo engine and a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with double clutch, the new variant has a top speed of 230 kilometres per hour. In addition to that, the model can achieve the century sprint in 7.1 seconds.

For the exterior, the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition comes with unique exterior paintwork, soft-top design, rim styling, and interior fittings—all created for the variant; giving it an unmistakable identity. Paying homage to Mini’s rich heritage, the model is painted in the Deep Laguna metallic colour.

Opening within 18 seconds even with the car moving at up to 30 kilometres per hour is the Mini Yours Soft-top Sidewalk that offers protection against rain and sun. Moreover, an interwoven “Sidewalk” pattern in Titanium Grey is featured in the electric-powered, three-in-one, black soft-top roof. Further enforcing the iconic Mini Convertible aesthetic is the sporty bonnet stripes—embellished with a geometric pattern.

Lighting up your future the way are LED headlamps, LED front and rear fog lamps, as well as the interior lighting package with 12 colour ambient lights. One more notable feature of the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition is the 17-inch light-alloy Scissor Spoke two-tone wheels.

Now, let’s take a look at its interior. In addition to the Mini Yours Leather Lounge Sidewalk seats in anthracite (combined with contrasting seams in Petrol and Energetic Yellow), the variant also has sports steering wheel bearing the Sidewalk logo. Door trims are embellished in the Petrol paint effect. You will also notice that the cockpit trim is also in Petrol finish.

The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition is the latest release from an extensive line of Sidewalk editions. Since its global introduction in 2007, it has become the epitome of style and spontaneity. Available in the new Deep Laguna exterior colour offering, the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition—priced at RM 285,899.47 (with SST exemption)—will be limited to 20 units only in Malaysia.
