Just in: Adidas UltraBoost X, the new running shoe for women
Made for performance
Sorry boys, this is one exclusively for the girls. Female runners and fans of the UltraBOOST range have much to rejoice for this week, as adidas unveils its new running shoe: the adidas UltraBOOST X. Like the PureBOOST X, it is tailored to the unique shape of the female foot, with a distinctive floating arch that reflects the foot's running silhouette for enhanced comfort, and consequently—greater performance.
Supporting the Adaptive Arch feature is a Primeknit upper, which hugs the foot in ultralight comfort while adapting naturally to the changing shape of the foot during runs. Made for performance, the 100% full length boost™ midsole delivers maximum energy return—the more energy you give, the more you get—as well as excellent cushioning and support. You'll be able to count on the UltraBOOST X rain or shine, as the Continental Rubber 4-way Stretch Web outsole ensures superior traction. Of course, the good-looking design doesn't hurt either.
Buro's take on the UltraBOOST X: Having taken both PureBOOST X and UltraBOOST X for test runs at KLCC Park, I find that both offer the same snug fit with the floating arch, but the latter has the slight upper hand when it comes to comfort with the Primeknit upper and narrower heel counter which didn't require breaking into. While both midsoles feature the boost technology, the UltraBOOST X does provide a more supportive, stable ride—which reasonably justifies its higher price range. To sum it up, I'd say the PureBOOST X is great for short-distance runs and hitting the gym, but if you really want to bring it one step (or several miles) further, the UltraBOOST X will take you there comfortably.
Tip: You might want to go a half size up with the UltraBOOST X. I'm normally a size UK 3.5 but for this, UK 4 fit me perfectly.
