High above the city on Level 37 of ILHAM Tower, Gaia’s KL brings heritage to new heights with a soulful take on Langkasuka cuisine. Anchored by a Mibrasa charcoal oven, each dish carries fiery flavours that speak of spice, smoke, and centuries of tradition. Our top picks include the cod otak-otak, chargrilled mackerel masak nanas, and the restaurant’s signature daging salai served with house-made chilli sauce. Bringing you a classic New York-style grill experience, this new arrival at The Row has all you need for an elevated meal. Situated in the brand new KLGCC mall, this restaurant Expect nothing but perfectly charred and juicy bites, featuring a range of proteins like chicken wings, duck breast, lobster and Hanwoo oyster blade. 6. CHARA

Another new fire-fueled kid on the block is Chara. This new Bangsar hangout is centered around its open-flame grill. The menu is stacked with everything you need for a hearty, char-forward meal. Its selection of starters are particularly interesting, detailing dishes like roasted beef offals, bone marrow, and seared tuna. As for the big plates, its durian wood-smoked Angus ribs, Argentinian Black Angus tomahawk, and butterflied saba mackerel stand out. But for the times when uncertainty hits, just get yourself the four-course chef’s dinner to keep the decisions to a minimum!

7. ONE BRICK DROP

One Brick Drop brings a modern Japanese café and bistro fare to the city centre. Though industrial, its space is cosy and comfortable with plenty of sunlight. 8. PATINA

Inspired by their years of living in Texas, they’ve built their very own wonderland of pieces like posters, bottle caps, vinyls, and figurines. Decked out in her signature patterns and motifs, the space is bright, inviting, and all-around fun. It doubles as a retail space for her apparel, accessories, and homeware. 15. LE COMPTOIR

Alila Bangsar’s Le Comptoir has made its return with a refreshed concept and menu. Coming alive with every sunset, the bar has introduced a new flavour identity, rooted in citrus. Its entire lineup is also centered around the philosophy of connection. Among the frontliners is the Shimbumi Citrus, an elegant Roku Gin-based tipple with notes of grapefruit, calamansi, and lychee. Also worth trying is the Nami Cloud, a concoction of whisky, yuzu cordial, bitters, and an egg white foam. There are also non-alcoholic options on the menu for anyone who is keeping sober. To accompany your drinks, there is also a selection of petite plates available that are perfect for sharing with the table.
