The Telawi area has seen somewhat of a renaissance in recent months as several new openings have burst onto the scene, including Tangram. The menu is rooted in Northeast Asian cooking with a delicate modern touch à la Hsiao Tung Wei (Unwined) and Johnny Tsai (T+T, Taipei). You can expect nothing but refined and clean plates that let the cooking do the talking. With star ingredients such as bird’s nest, Sichuan peppercorn, dragon chives, and even lamb saddle dotted throughout the menu, diners will get a well-rounded and eye-opening look at the potential that lies in Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Plus, oenophiles will find great comfort in its wine pairing, as Hsiao has thoughtfully curated the selection to ensure a balanced but enhanced experience.
