Nestled along Jalan Doraisamy, the bakehouse is led by Executive Pastry Chef Giuseppe Palladino, who has curated an array of delectable creations for pastry and dessert addicts. 3. Florentine La Bisteccheria

Whilst Crema Pasticceria Moderna churns out fresh pastries during the day, Florentine La Bisteccheria takes over in the evening, transforming the charming space into a modern grillhouse that honours Italian culinary traditions. As one might guess from the name, its menu reflects Tuscan inspirations—with beef being the highlight, served in a variety of cuts and forms. The Fiorentina-style steak takes the spotlight and is traditionally served ‘al Sangue’ (rear). Other signature dishes include the Florentine burger and surf-and-turf tartare, best paired with hearty soups and desserts.

4. Kikyo

Kikyo has just opened its doors at Troika, serving up Malaysia’s first premium warayaki—a traditional form of Japanese cooking that involves burning straw to create dramatic fires in the range of 800-900 degrees Celsius. The high temperatures are said to ensure fast and even cooking to capture the essence of the ingredient. Moreover, the carefully designed menu also highlights other unique Japanese cooking techniques like kunsei (smoking) and kojizuke (Koji sake marination). Headed by Chef Yamasaki Kenichiro, Kikyo currently offers three menus for varying budgets, designed to be savoured in an intimate dining atmosphere.

5. Fifty Tales

What started as a humble noodle bar in 2019 has now evolved into a full-fledged modern Malaysian Chinese restaurant located in Seapark, Petaling Jaya. That’s Fifty Tales for you. Helmed by culinary trio Aaron Khor (Head Chef), Aaron Phua and Bimmy Soh, this understated handmade noodle shop draws from the distinct cultures of the Cantonese, Teow Chew, Hokkien, and sometimes Peranakan people to present modern interpretations of Chinese cuisine. The lunch menu features all things noodles with a selection of sides and rice alternatives; whilst the ‘Cincai Dinner’ menu comprises contemporary sharing plates. Meanwhile, beverages include a range of tea, cocktails, and low-ABV libations.

6. Wild Rooster

Enter the wild without leaving creature comforts behind at Wild Rooster’s camping-themed space in Bukit Jalil. The uniquely designed cafe is adorned with mismatched camping chairs, tents, utensils and accessories that tie in brilliantly with the concept. As for the menu, patrons can look forward to specialty coffee and non-coffee creations with creative monikers like Top Gun, Baby Yoda, and Cigarette Before Sex; alongside small bites and tacos that are great for sharing with fellow ‘campers’. Dessert enthusiasts can also choose from a list of shaved kakigori delights, including chendol and Thai milk tea-inspired options.

7. Sushinosuke

Another addition to the Klang Valley’s booming omakase scene is Sushinosuke, calling Pinnacle Mall in Petaling Jaya its home. The restaurant is the first Malaysian outpost of the Tokyo outlet of the same name, known for its casual and fashional sushi omakase experience. Come with a big appetite, as a meal here is made up of 20 courses including hand rolls, sushi, hot dishes, palate cleansers, and more. As Sushinosuke sources its seafood directly from the famed Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo, customers will be treated to the freshest seasonal produce available.

8. Brasa KL

Shrouded in greenery and boasting serene views of the lakeside, this new minimalist cafe is the perfect pit stop for a pick-me-up after a picnic in the park. It’s run by the same team behind The Roast Things, Cream Coffee Stand, and Neutrals, so customers can expect the same quality coffee, tea and chocolate.
