Then look no further than Beef Bowl, which serves up authentic Thai beef noodle soup that’s filled with generous chunks of meat, noodles, meatballs, and topped with cilantro. The restaurant also serves a beefy appetiser that consists of fried, tender beef that you can dip in its signature sambal.

At first glance, you’ll probably have a hard time finding your way into this restaurant because the doorway blends into the wall. Once you’re in, you’ll find yourself in a hole-in-the-wall that’s known for its iconic butter chicken dish. Jibril also has plenty of dishes and drinks—like ButterChicken Chop Pasta and Onde-onde cocktail—for you to choose from. If you’re a Harry Potter fan who’s missing Hogwarts (or in this case, Hogsmeade), then order a glass of the delectable homemade butterbeer.

A cafe that needs no introduction and has made its way into Malaysians’ hearts, Naj and Belle is home to the country’s first watermelon cake. If you haven’t tried it, this refreshing slice of cake consists of a lychee sponge cake layered with cream and almond dacquoise with a watermelon slice in the middle topped with strawberries. That’s not all, Naj and Belle also serves an array of dishes including pasta with a local twist, cakes, and coffee.

Pull up, it’s time for some rolls. Newly opened in September 2023, this restaurant serves wild caught Canadian lobster in a buttered brioche bun. Although Mobster Lobster keeps it simple with only four items on the menu, all the rolls are packed with enough meat and a burst of flavours for a satisfying bite. The signatures include the Original Bite, lobster tossed in clarified butter and served with their Mobster sauce; and the Sambal, which has lobster coated in a buttery curry sauce.

If you’re craving for Korean food but also want to nibble on something more Western, then head over to Moonalisa. The restaurant serves up a wide variety of Korean and Western cuisine like Korean fried chicken that’s cooked to perfection, chicken chop, and sizzling beef slice pepper.

Another well-known cafe that’s the go-to choice for locals, Lisette’s Cafe and Bakery takes pride in using natural and organic ingredients whenever possible to guarantee good food. The cafe’s menu features its best-seller, Black Rice Nasi Lemak, alongside dishes like chicken tikka skewers, a variety of open-face sandwiches, and burgers. What started as a home bakery has now evolved into a brick-and-mortar cafe. The Baking Experiment is known for its artisanal bakes like the viral round croissants (known as the Schwirl) and delectable brownies. Start your experience at the cafe with a savoury meal, like the Smoked Salmon with Herbed Cream Cheese Schwirl that is filled with smoked salmon, paprika butter and cream cheese, then topped with rosemary and dill.
