Ara Damansara isn’t usually an area that comes to mind when you think of cafes. However, over the past few years, the neighbourhood has slowly developed and is now home to a growing cafe community. With that said, here are five cafes in Ara Damansara that you should definitely visit if you’re looking for a new hangout spot.

 

1. Sweet Street by Iada Cakes

This cafe gets rave reviews for its cakes and baked goods. What started off as a home bakery turned into the cosy space that is Sweet Street by Iada Cakes in 2022. Aside from cakes, this family-owned cafe also serves delicious food—the kind that satisfies those home-cooked cravings. Recently, Sweet Street announced that it will soon open for dinner under the name ‘Meat at SwtSrt’. The new dinner menu features Australian Angus Beef, Australian Lamb, and big cuts like Tomahawk that are available upon request.

2. Underscore Coffee

Of coffee, cold brews, and comfort food—Underscore Coffee is a cosy joint that serves a variety of food. The cafe’s staple is its rice bowls that put a twist on our comfort food, such as the GF Bowl, which is a twist on the classic Gai Fan. It also serves a variety of cakes, tarts, and coffee creations that might just tickle your taste buds.

3. Bijou Cafe

Bijou is the newest kid on the block in the neighbourhood. Its minimal, industrial design gives off a calming atmosphere with potted trees adorning every corner. Though currently in its soft launch stage, Bijou doesn’t compromise when it comes to good coffee. The cafe also offers a few pastries like Cinnabon Bun and Pain Au Double Choc, or if you want something a little heavier, there’s also Nasi Lemak Bungkus

4. Petiteserie

If you’re craving buttery, mouth-watering pastries, then Petiteserie is the place you need to visit! Petiteserie is also a business that started off online before recently opening a physical branch in Ara Damansara. This cafe is a fan-favourite among those who live around the neighbourhood. Aside from the pastries, Petiteserie also serves a variety of mains like breakfast platters, sandwiches, and pastas.

5. Happy Hour Cafe
