Anthony Vaccarello certainly knows how to make a statement (albeit a rather suggestive one) at Saint Laurent. Last Spring’s provocative ad campaign resulted in the Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité’s orders for the brand to stop ad distribution and to modify the visuals after receiving a slew of complaints.
But for Winter 2017, the designer kept it classy by reverting to the house codes for the video campaign. The film’s location was shot at Rue de Bellechasse in Paris, within a blue-lit space filled with scaffolding—inspired by the raw, industrial setup from the Autumn/Winter 2017 show. Directed by art director and stylist Nathalie Canguilhem with a soundtrack by Sebastian, the film features models who also walked the show including Binx Walton, Mica Arganaraz, Fernanda Oliveria, and Louis Marzin.
