Following the departure of Pierpaolo Piccioli from Valentino, the esteemed fashion house has announced Alessandro Michele as his successor. Effective April 2nd, 2024, the Italian designer will assume his new role in Rome, the birthplace of the brand in 1960 and where its creative essence thrives. Celebrated for his bold embrace of maximalism, Michele expresses: “It’s an incredible honour for me to be welcomed at Maison Valentino. I feel the immense joy and the huge responsibility to join a Maison de Couture that has the word ‘beauty’ carved on a collective story, made of distinctive elegance, refinement and extreme grace.” Michele is slated to debut his first collection for the House at Paris Fashion Week SS25.

Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela have launched their latest collaborative eyewear collection, marking another milestone in their partnership. The new line showcases 17 designs, highlighting fresh templeless styles, artisanal leather-wrapped frames and the iconic four white stitches emblematic of Maison Margiela’s avant-garde aesthetic. Crafted from high-quality acetate, the frames boast signature colour palettes, including black, white, grey, cream, transparent and tortoiseshell. Additionally, leather-framed options are offered in rich shades like ivory, khaki and blue. The MM101 and MM102 designs are presented in silver Glam Slam cases, while other glasses are housed in sleek white Glam Slam cases.

Loewe debuts the Crafted World exhibition in Shanghai

Loewe has unveiled its much-anticipated Crafted World exhibition at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Curated by creative director Jonathan Anderson, this marks the House’s first-ever public exhibition, commemorating Loewe’s 178-year journey of creativity, innovation and mastery in craftsmanship. The exhibition invites visitors to delve into the brand’s iconic designs and cultural collaborations, tracing its evolution from a humble leather-making collective to a global icon in luxury fashion. With nine interactive rooms to explore, standout pieces include the larger-than-life leather sculptures, an enchanting ‘pronunciation tunnel’ and a suspended flower garden nestled within an infinite hall of mirrors. 

The Crafted World exhibition runs from March 22 to May 5, 2024, and admission is free.

The acclaimed actor is set to headline a special campaign showcasing select pieces from the men’s Versace Icons collection. Expressing her excitement for the collaboration, Donatella Versace shares: “I am thrilled that Cillian is joining the Versace family. He is a truly exceptional actor. Spanning an impressive 300 square metres, the interior radiates sophistication with its classic black and white chequered marble flooring alongside walls tinted in soothing green tones. H&M partners with Rokh for its latest designer series

After successful collaborations with Mugler and Rabanne last year, H&M’s designer collaboration series is back with an exciting new partnership, this time featuring the up-and-coming brand Rokh. If you haven’t heard, the Paris-based label is coveted for its customisable designs imbued with a distinct sense of off-beat elegance. The upcoming collection will showcase Rokh’s versatile styles, featuring double-layer trench coats, playful office-inspired bags and bold jewellery pieces. “Rokh designs have a classic appearance with a radical construction for a timeless approach to design. I’m very excited to share our vision with more customers around the world thanks to this milestone collection with H&M,” says Rok Hwang, the creative director at Rokh. 

The Rokh H&M collection will launch in selected stores and online on April 18, 2024.
