Fashion buzz: Gentle Monster unveils Kris Wu collab, Fendi’s California Sky collection launches today, and more

Gentle Monster and Kris Wu’s ‘Gentle Wu’ collab is almost here

Two months after Gentle Monster launched its ‘Jentle Home’ collection in partnership with Blackpink’s Jennie, the South Korean eyewear brand has tapped yet another style star for its next collab—Chinese-Canadian singer, rapper, actor (and former EXO member) Kris Wu. Dubbed the Gentle Wu collection, the eyewear comes in a range of designs, from the classic square to an über cool goggle-like style. Each pair comes with a chrome signature GW logo.

The collection will launch on its website on June 25.

After first partnering up for its pop-up cafe—the Peekaboo bar—at Harrods last year, Fendi has continued its collaboration with LA-based artist Joshua Vides for Pre-Fall 2020. The result: a collection that highlights its graphic marker aesthetic. Named the ‘California Sky’, the line-up consists of women’s, men’s, and kid’s ready-to-wear and accessories; and it includes pantsuits, bucket hats, sneakers, and bags that have been given the sketch treatment in black and white.

The collection will be available at Fendi’s Suria KLCC and Pavilion stores from June 25 onwards.

In 2020 when we will enter into a brave new era for humans, we feel a strong affinity and joy as a brand for the fact that we can collaborate with someone who has both a unique perspective on society and intelligence and share messages globally,” said the brand’s Communication team.

As for Willow, she said, “I immediately connected with Onitsuka Tiger’s vision for their new campaign. I loved that we were able to align both of our energies and create something that promotes a positive existence in this world. I’m excited for the future of the brand.” In the first campaign images unveiled by Onitsuka Tiger, the 19-year-old can be seen sporting the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection that merges pop art, fashion, and sportswear.
