A scroll through Emily Ratajkowski’s Instagram feed and you’ll notice most of her day-off ensembles consist of swimwear—whether she’s lounging poolside in a one-piece or spending the weekend on a yacht in her bikinis. A self-proclaimed “beach baby”, she has now created her own line of bathing suits called Inamorata, and professed her love for swimwear in an interview with Vogue. “I grew up in San Diego and I basically wore a bathing suit every day on the beach. When I was 16, sometimes I would literally wake up, not put on any clothes, and I’d put on a bathing suit and get coffees and burritos for the day”.
So far, she has launched six bathing suits on the site which consists of three bikinis and three one-pieces in a variety of prints and hues, and some pieces have already sold out as we speak. A one-piece swimsuit in particular features a waist-accentuating belt—a detail which she confesses that it’s hard to find. For the collection, Emily also takes inspo from “buxom babes of the late ’70s, ’80s and ’90s”, and the four-bow one-piece is inspired by a photo of then-supermodel Stephanie Seymour in Sports Illustrated. When it comes to her brand, she aims to market the swimwear pieces as “lifestyle wear” to be incorporated into our daily looks, and we can definitely expect Emily to take the lead.
