Exclusive: Taylor Hill recalls her time as a Victoria’s Secret model at the new Store of the Future in Singapore

Victoria’s Secret revealed its brand-new flagship store in ION Orchard, Singapore earlier this month. The Store of the Future illustrates the brand’s unwavering commitment to reinventing contemporary style and empowering women through inclusivity and innovation. The spacious interior is packed with a plethora of inclusive goods and tech-first features that are meant to make consumers feel like they belong with mannequins of all sizes.
Along with the classic collections like Dream Angels and Body by Victoria, the bras are offered in a wide range of sizes, from 32A to 38DDD, with three different lining options: push-up, lightly lined, and unlined. If you’re not sure which one fits, don’t worry—specially trained Bra Fit Experts are available to carry out one-on-one bra fitting sessions and help you find the perfect fit for your particular body type. Fittings are also free of charge, and no one needs an appointment.
In the fragrances and body care sections, the fragrance fit experts will be on hand to provide free consultation and recommendations according to your preferences. Likewise, the modern changing room area promises an empowering retail experience.
To mark the opening of the store, a celebration was hosted with regional personalities like Malaysia’s Marion Caunter, Indonesia’s Nia Ramadhani, Thailand’s Janie Tienphosuwan and Philippines’s Heart Evangelista in attendance. Victoria’s Secret’s most adored Icons—Taylor Hill and Sui He—also flew in for the occasion. Ahead of the launch, we spoke with Hill about her experience with the American retailer. What is your favourite memory of Victoria’s Secret?
“I think my favourite memory is the whole experience of being a Victoria’s Secret angel and walking for the show.”
What are you looking forward to the most on your trip to Singapore with Victoria’s Secret?
“I’m looking forward to exploring the city! Going to the restaurants and having some nice dinner. I’ve always wanted to come here and since it’s very rare for me to come to this part of the world, I’m staying for a few days.”
What is the one Victoria’s Secret item every woman must have?
“I would say the strapless bras—it’s the best and you always need one. It’s also versatile so you can wear it in multiple ways based on whatever tops or dresses you’re wearing.”
Is it still exciting for you to be a part of the new Victoria’s Secret?
“It is because I just love growth, change and evolving in general so it’s exciting to be a part of this new era. Seeing the new stores and how they’re working on it, it feels very fresh and clean—I love that.”
What is your lingerie style?
“My style is very casual. I like to be comfortable and more on the minimal side. I love a good T-shirt bra.”
What advice would you give to aspiring models?
“You’ll face a lot of rejections in the industry, which comes with the territory but I would say as long as you’re doing what you love, then don’t worry about it. Just keep doing you, try your best and give it your all. At the end of the day, if you’re working towards your goal, it will work out.”
What has been the most fulfilling experience you have had in your career?
“For me, the most fulfilling experience is the opportunity to travel and to see different cultures, and meet different people. I think that was such an incredible experience and taught me a lot.
