The volume of collaborations in the high fashion industry has reached an all-time high as of late, with brands teaming up with designers from streetwear labels on one-time capsule collections. Tommy Hilfiger tapped niche label Vetements, Burberry roped in Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy for SS18, while Nike teamed up with Virgil Abloh of streetwear label Off-White on a reinvented capsule.
Jimmy Choo is the next in line to unveil a collaboration with Milan-based Off-White, with the former creating the shoe looks for the latter’s ready-to-wear collection this Spring/Summer 2018. This marks the first time that Jimmy Choo is collaborating with another ready-to-wear designer on a commercial collection.
“To collaborate with a brand like Off-White allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation. I love to mix it up by getting together with a different creative mind identifying our synergies and combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising collection with unexpected links to the roots of our brand,” says Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo.
Get a first look at the shoes this September 28 when Off-White presents its SS18 collection during Paris Fashion Week. Named Off-White c/o Jimmy Choo, the collection of shoes will be available in selected stores from February 2018.
