Just in: Gosha Rubchinskiy collaborates with Burberry for SS18

Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy took guests by surprise at his Spring/Summer 2018 show in Saint Petersburg, Russia yesterday when he unveiled his collaboration with British luxury fashion house Burberry. The fashion maestro of streetwear worked alongside Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey on the eight-piece lineup consisting of reinterpretations of Burberry’s signature gabardine trench coat, shorts, shirts and trousers with the iconic checkered print. “Burberry has always symbolized the epitome of classic British style to me. Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern streetwear, creating a great mix. I’m very happy with the result of our collaborative work,” said the Russian designer.

“I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time,” says Bailey. “He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honoured when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection. His reinterpretation of some of our most iconic designs, feels exciting, new and relevant whilst paying enormous respect to their British cultural heritage.”

This marks the second collaboration Rubchinskiy has introduced this year—the designer rolled out his collaboration with Adidas earlier in January, and has worked with brands and artistes including Daft Punk, Off-White, and Supreme. The Gosha Rubchinskiy x Burberry collection will be available in stores January 2018.
