Hallyu or what is known as the Korean Wave has irrevocably taken the world by storm. Picture perfect pop groups and highly-addictive K-dramas aside, the notable Korean style game definitely plays a part in the craze—the wind behind that proverbial storm, if you will.

 

Hence, when Seoul Fashion Week brought the party back to home turf, expectations were high for the local style set to show up and show out. And the Autumn/Winter 2017 showgoers did not disappoint. Adding extra visual interest to Zaha Hadid’s 38,000-square-metre undulating aluminium structure dubbed the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (the main event venue) were ensembles that ranged from ‘less is more’ to ‘more is not enough’.

 

The streetwear trend is still alive and kicking in Seoul as they are at fashion weeks across the globe. Looks may be far from the outlandish display in Tokyo but the South Korean capital exudes a cool cat bravado in dressing that is all their own. From psychedelic locks to shin-grazing furs Macklemore would approve of, here are some of the best street style snaps we would roll the red carpet out for:
