NYFW SS16: Rebecca Minkoff

It’s safe to say that Rebecca Minkoff is always one step ahead of the tech game, evident by her SS16 show where Intel drones were present up in the air, which made sense with her futuristically-skewed collection—knee-high gladiators with lucite heels, smart bracelet prototypes, charging-phone wristlets and the like.

But we all know that Minkoff’s inspiration harkens back to retro: 60s, bohemian, and in her words, “Marianne Faithfull’s mod bohemian spirit mix.” Find shift dresses, contrasting pairings of studded leather over lace and chiffon, cold-shoulder  printed peasant dresses along with fringed details on bags and a poncho.

Her tonal palette also went along with the 60s London, boho-mod-girl theme: clean white against black, with a few pastel options—dove gray, lavender, pale peach—for a touch of spring/summer.
