LOOKBOOK: Valentino SS22 Runway

Valentino's return to the official Paris Fashion Week schedule for Spring/Summer 2022 was introduced by encounters of many: between the past and the present, the old and the new, haute couture and ready-to-wear. Digging deep into house archives, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli was focused on re-signifying codes of the house for the contemporary era, bringing back five iconic looks––including a tiger print coat, floral frocks and Valentino denim––which informed the rest of the collections in a reconnection with the streets (specifically the cobble streets of Le Marais). Daywear was interspersed between notions of eveningwear to present crisply layered suiting, floral-inspired mesh and lace ensembles and a series of voluminous taffeta garments cut around the body in off-the-shoulder pieces, enveloping flute-sleeved frocks and oversized shirting. See every look in the collection now.
