The queen of all floral, ethereal creations Monique Lhuillier blew us away with a stunning collection of bold bright colours and structural shapes that was vibrant and elegant at the same time.
Taking a cue from contemporary artists Ellsworth Kelly and Jackson Pollock’s abstract work, Lhuillier’s jade green and fuchsia colourblocked pieces echoed Kelly’s hard-edged, minimalistic paintings; while her multicoloured sheer and lace dresses and coats resembled Pollock’s drip-style paintings in a seamlessly beautiful way.
As always, her silhouettes flatter easily—tulip and midi skirts, strapless ankle-length dresses, and mid-knee length tops cinched at the waist for a classic fit.
